@Philscbx: Wide-angle lens + high camera mounting makes it look smooth. I didn't feel like drilling firewall holes for the camera cables in my daily driver, so didn't mount it race-car style in the grille.
I have a 3500 mile road trip in August from Quebec to Oregon. Any must sees/avoids ? I don't know how anyone does road trips in Civics, I couldn't drive mine two hours without getting back spasms. I now have a much less reliable but much more comfortable black hatchback which I hope makes it West and back...
@Marquis de Saab: I did a stint from Greenville, SC to Sebring, FL stopping only for gas in a DX with the 15D, averaged 46 mpg (A/C humming) and about 73 mph. I think it was about 9 hours worth of seat time each way, for a long weekend. That was a '92, and the seats weren't terrible.
Gave up the Civic, though. Too modern, too pedestrian. ;-)
@mechimike: I've done many thousands of long-distance road trip miles in a '73 MGB-GT, and it was surprisingly comfortable. Noisy and bouncy, but nice seating position.
A little off topic, but what kind of camera is that? And when you say cheap, how cheap? I'll be making a 6000 mile coast to coast meander in August, and something like this could be just the ticket for documenting it.
@wannabewannabe: It's a generic Sony CCD-based lipstick camera and a DXG-521 DVR. I can't find that seller on eBay now, but the deal was something a bit over 200 bucks. Of course, that DVR is a fragile, temperamental piece of crap and I don't recommend it, but the camera has survived grille placement in several LeMons races and still works great.

@CTS-V: I would have used music not made by my own Throbbing Gristle/Negativland-influenced "difficult" band from 20 years ago, but YouTube now mutes your audio if you use any music on their RIAA-supplied list.
@ummagumma82: I think I managed to get someone at Gawker to get me a hi-res version of the artwork to send to the dude volunteering to make the decals, but I don't seem to have it any more.
@Murilee Martin: It's probably not a coincidence, then, that the third search result for "Murilee Arraiac" bears the subtitle "New Age Music for Serial Killers."
@Murilee Martin: Heck, I would leave 'em all on there...especially that bitchin' JALOPNIK one(which BTW, I would still like to know where to score one of those).
@citroën67: I don't have any left, so no. I keep trying to interest the Overlords into printing up a bunch of rolls of Jalopnik duct tape. I figure that would be a big hit among our readership, and free advertising on race cars worldwide.
@r0ver: At this point I'm forced to admit that most of the trip's soundtrack was provided by an MP3 player; with only 3 cassettes there would have been excessive repitition. Sorry.
@Murilee Martin: I did a weeklong roadtrip in my old Suburban with a buddy of mine and only 2 CDs. This was back when CDs were new-fangled- I believe we used a cheapy Kenwood "discman" plugged into the old Pioneer Supertuner in the 'Burban's dash.

Though I must ask, is that a hood ornament on the Civic?

Oh, and by the way, the soundtrack is awesome. It's kinda like Oval meets Autechre meets Man or Astroman. You should sell it; no lie.

"So, we drove 3000 miles and only had one cassette. Can't remember what it was."
And I can't remember whose gag that was.

Steven Wright.
I hate to think what important nugget of information was pushed out of my brain to make room for that.

It can't have been that important.
Thanks.
