Even if you could register one on this side of the boarder, you could definitely get one for less money and with fewer of Manny, Moe and Jack's fingerprints. Pass the pipe.

Nice price. I'd rock it without irony. Plus, I can laugh at all the tall people with their well-paying jobs and increased sex appeal and sports skills and improved cardiovascular health and perceived notions of intelligence/leadership abilities and their fulfilling of traditional societal views of masculinity in a male-oriented world.

Take that, you 6+ footers! At least I get to drive my tiny, aging Japanese shoebox in style! You suckers!

Aww... what an adorable little car! And since Gran Turismo never lies (fastest way around a track is via the sides of other cars), what a fast adorable little car!

But for 12 grand? I'd want at least 3 more shots of espresso and a free mug, thank you very much.

I like this car. It's cute, but there's too many issues and potential booby-traps and not enough reward for the money. $11,900 would buy a nice, late-model Miata, not to mention a lot of other good used sports/sporty cars. Crack pipe, and it appears eBay agrees.

@tonyola: Word. When will people learn that just because something is weird, or even cute, it's not necessarily worth much money? Hell, I have friends who are both weird and cute and nobody's ever put cash down for them. Well, not much cash, anyway.

1,500lbs with 100hp? *drools* I would love to have one of those. Hopefully we will see cars go this route thanks to the new cafe standards.

Anthony...100 hp and 1500 pounds equates to 200 hp and 3400 pounds, once you add two passengers the size of you....i.e., something like a err...Camry with less torque. We ain't talking a mini-MR2 here. I'm thinking of a peakier MG Midget.

I don't know how good the 'Zuki chassis is though. But $12k? Not a chance.

This Cappucino needs to take a few cues from it's brethren, the Hayabusa. And by cues, I mean the entire engine.

@Sloop_John_B: Some people have tried that apparently, but it looks like they never got it on the road. Would've been cool though.

"The Hayabusa conversion will cost between £15,000 to £26,000 including parts and labour. For a few more thousand, you can even have a turbo attached to it. Want to go fast? On the weight ratio, it will bring your Cappuccino to slightly more than 300BHP. "

I myself am a serious fan of the kei car genre, and this is a fair price, considering that it's in pretty good shape. But I could never own one of this particular make. It's like buying a bargain condom that's too small. Sure, it was a good deal, but what the heck do you do with it?

I've liked these since I first picked up my PS1 controller on Gran Turismo...

With that paint, and those wheels, this one looks like a pre-pubescent Dodge Viper though...

But, being a fan of the kei, I had to give it a nice price vote...

haha... I like them too, but I've described their looks as "the offspring of a Miata and a jellybean." :p

That's some pretty good power for a kei car though, especially with its light weight (I thought it was closer to 68hp stock?) so it's even cooler that a car with such a "cute" design should be able to perform so well!

Nice car, but with Daddy Obama Barrack's new MPG requirments, soon these won't be all that rare a sight over here. And I by no means wish to imply that would be a bad thing. Just a change.

BTW, is that minty-flavored car one of those kei Nissan's in the background? I prefer _that_ one.

He's lying about the age either to get around VIN requirements for Ebay (haha...didn't work), or in order to trick someone into thinking this car is US-legal. It isn't, it won't be for at least 8 years.

@TechnoDestructo: An early one would be legal in Canada, as they can import 15 year old JDM cars willy-nilly.

Don't I remember one of these from Gran Turismo? The car in the game was a sporty car, fast for it's scale. Maybe it could become a Cappacamino if an interprising Jalop with a sawzall took that top off?

Yes, and in Initial D 4th Stage they pitted one against an R32 Skyline in the rain.

I tried in in GT4 on Tsukuba wet, and it actually worked... a very fun race and the Cappuccino came out on top!

I love rooting for these things, but I don't have the kind of cash for a secondary "fun car." Still, it's a gutsy little kei car. Also, it supposedly feels much faster since you're so low to the ground.

But yeah, this thing's a hoot.
