Awesome. The F40 is probably my 2nd favorite supercar (after the early Countach, of course).

These things are so close to a go-kart in overall concept that you have to be a huge nerd to really appreciate it. I'd bet that the F40 is the one Ferrari that might have a hard time getting it's owners laid, but will have us losers drooling at it's disassembled drivetrain/monthly engine rebuild.

The idea in your head is nicer than the reality.

I have never seen such an odd place for a oil filter before. Anybody know the logic behind the placement on top of the engine block?

@TENGRAM: Yes, but that's half the appeal of the F40. It's a very minimalistic car. The windows don't even roll down.

Why can't so many simpler cars be this simple? I'm sure there's plenty of factors at work, but:

    1. Seems that because it's hand-built, it was probably done in fewer sub-assemblies and thus fits together in a much more logical manner.
    2. Not as much need for comfort and convenience
    3. Lightness
    4. When you're selling half-million-dollar cars, you have no need for planned obsolescence through mechanical/electrical failures...brand reputation is #1.
