No rust? No problem. I'd give him that much if he included all the stock components and kept his ugly ass-wheels. No, not ugly-ass wheels. Ugly ass-wheels.

Definitely nice price for what could, when returned to stock condition, be the belle of the ball at Barrett-Jackson 2035.

    $11k?

You have to assume he started high.

    (I crack myself up.)

    I'd say Nice Price, BARELY

Unmoletested All-Trac celicas are hard to come by, though I'd more readily drop 11k on the 89-93 Celica Alltrac (the one just before quad headlights)

It's worth it for that kerrayzee double-din sized living room music centre alone!

Also, he's allowing us to make "a better offer". How generous is this guy?

    Best price evar.

Didn't you have to beat the FF circuit on Gran Turismo2 to win that car?

Nice price. It looks like he does have the stock rime along with some other goodies that will go with the car. If you pay the $11k asking. If he accepts a best offer, I'm guessing the goodies will go on e-bay.

It pains me to vote "nice price" on this. $11k for an '88 Celica is batshit insane. But I like this car. "Like" like. I wouldn't spend anywhere near that kind of money on it, but somewhere there has to be a guy with the same lustful feelings, and a healthier bankroll than I.

That said, even if I had $11k to spend on a car, there are others that I'd rather have, but there are also a lot of cars in that price range that I'd take this over.

    Crack pipe.

At half the price, this would be a really good deal.

I'll have to abstain on this one. I'm still questioning the collectibility of 80s cars in general, no matter how rare. The passage of time indicates that everything eventually becomes popular again (even poorly handling muscle cars at Barret Jackson). But having consciously lived through the 80s, I don't see much nostalgia there unless the future just starts to suck really hard. I never saw many people pining for Reagan until W came along.

@Ash78: I guess we're different in that respect. You and I are the same age, but I dig '80s cars. I guess one could call it pathetic nostalgia, but that was when I came of age as a car enthusiast. Cars from the '80s and into the early '90s are what formed my impressionable young mind. Sure, I always had a healthy love for '60s muscle, but the '80s holds some memories with a dash of irony, and makes me want to recapture some of that innocence. You know, before I knew that even the "cool" cars from the '80s sucked. I guess that explains my Fiero.

@smalleyxb122: I've got some selective love in there. For example, an '86 MR2 (like my coworker has) or an '82 Scirocco, '87 944, and many others.

But most of my 80s car memories are the mundane and mediocre stuff: Chrysler minivans, Buick Regals, Suburbans. I guess nobody in my family had cool cars back then. Of course, that was partially my fault for financially burdening my parents. Heisenberg principle!

@Ash78: I believe the 2000 Republican National Convention was a Reagan lovefest...the pining really got started sometime during the Clinton administration.

There's always people in the market for '80s cars. It's the people who are nostalgic for 60s and 70s muscle but can't afford it.

I won't buy it, but I'd still say it's a nice price. Very rare (at least in michigan - the state where all foreign cars are rare)

If it came down to this versus a new car, this would win...

But not until I beat the seller over the head with the What the Hell Are You Smoking Stick.

$11K for a Celica, no matter how well treated, means the valve cover had better be made of solid gold. Yes, that would upset the handling.
