    If you can't get laid in this van, you're doing it wrong.

    This thing is a freakin' time capsule! The CB should be one of the newfangled (for '77) 40 channel jobs, but that can be fixed.

    Let me love you long time, baby! It's the spoiler and wraparound mural that really do it.

    Besides, it's not like money is worth anything any more.

    On second thought, i'll stick with my Diet Pepsi.

    I challenge anybody to get that.

    @General Halfshaftery:

    Sticking with your Diet Pepsi means you are a lesbian. Does this style of van actually appeal to you folks? I thought you were into Subaru Forester's and Mini Cooper's. I'm just curious....no harm intended.

    I'd have to soak the inside in industrial grade Lysol and even then I still wouldn't want to touch it with my bare skin. And for $15K the guy can't shine up the engine a little? Criminy.

    It's nice, but it isn't hauntingly beautiful, so I'll pass...the pipe.

    I have to vote Nice on this one for being such a great period piece, but no-one cared for Foghat or even Barry White by 1979. If you wanted to impress your hot babe with the 5-band equalizers and the entire planetary output of shag and velour for the year 1978, you popped in some Gerry Rafferty, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Sister Sledge, Dire Straits, Commodores, or - best of all - Journey's "Lovin, Touchin' Squeezin". Everbody sing!

    @tonyola:

    Exactly right about the music. In the 70's our family had a couple customized vans (not as outrageous as this, but still...) and we listened to ABBA, Blondie, Pat Benatar, The Eagles, The Doors (a family favorite), The Bee Gees, Donna Summer..... ok, so my mom was the primary DJ.

    As a kid I'd sneak in stuff like The Knack, The Cars, Molly Hatchet and the "Official Rockin' 8-track of 1979", Cheap Trick, Live At Budokan.

    As for the van, it's pretty authentic and worth the money. There were a lot these around when I was a kid and seeing one like this would have stood out. It was probably built for show more than cruising. The overhead switches and OG kick ass Fuzzbuster are absolutely dead on 1979. The lair in the back complete with crushed velour curtains and a mirror is about as disco dolly suggestive as it gets.

    I'd ditch the two tone mods and find some 15" cast aluminum Vector wheels (good luck with that) and install some side pipes. Beyond that, I'd steam clean and extract the interior and drive it as is. It's perfect.

    @Uncle Bo, averting foreclosure:

    Well blow my mind, here's what I've been looking for to install on that van.

    You know how they have the "earthquake" van that shows people how it feels to be in an earthquake?

    Well, this is the allergy van--mold, bacteria, pollen, whoknowswhat, decade after decade, wafting down from the ceiling, drifting up from the dash, mutating in the hot sun as the polyester and petroleum based carpet fibers disintegrate and make their way into your lungs...

    Welcome to New Crack City!

    Nice price. You had me at "Brain-Meltingly Awesome Custom Van."

    For what it's worth, I'm trying to convince my dad and sister (who both paint) to paint a mural on my xB. Screw resale value.

    That thing is mint! I can't believe this thing is an original modded in the 70's piece. I have to believe it because I'm sure thay don't make carpet like that anymore and look at that stereo equipment.

    Definetely worth the price cause, man, you could like...live anywhere.

    Nice price.

    Why waste those inflated ARM payments? I'd save up for a few months before the bank swoops in and proudly move my belongings into this spacious reminder of how adventurous things got under the leadership of a peanut farmer.
