I'm liking the '65. My mom's first car was a circa 1965 Impala, and it was only a few years ago that it was finally crushed. Not that it ran, as it sat a ways in the woods for a couple decades.

As much as I love the '65s (my dad had two back in the day), I had to go with the '70 4-door, because a) it strongly suggests the owner is not the sort of person you want to piss off, and b) a little old lady in town has a faded baby blue one (along with a royal blue '73 or '74 4-door post) in her driveway that I would have a very, very hard time not buying if and when she or her heirs decide to sell it.

I voted for the beatup '70. It just looks angry and used. I want it. I would be a menace on the road with that thing. You wanna drift into my lane? No courtesy honk. I'll just let you hit me.

Interesting find on that '73 Caprice Classic. It looks to be mid-restoration and eagerly awaiting the hydraulics and subs.

I was mistaken--it's the '64 Impala that will always be my favourite. Barring that, the '65 four-door has got it. And no, I wouldn't rather the SS, it's too obvious. I just wanna be able to cruise around with ten of my homies in rumbly American style.

Yeah, gotta go with the SS. The two-doors of that generation were just too damn slick to pass up. I'd still take the scary-as-hell '70 though.

But I also voted for the '60 Chevy just because it's a '60 Chevy and still rolling. Just look at that roofline, the chrome jet trim, all the curves and fiddly bits of trim, the angles...

I've seen everything from an MC-12 to R8s to Teslas to Vectors to Veyrons to Carrera GTs to Enzos to Atoms to DBSs to 959s, and just about anything else you can think of. There's not much that's as impressive in life as a two-mile long stretch of supercars all doing 120 down the freeway heading out to the twisty roads going out to the coast. I got to drive behind an Atom, with a Miura in front of him and a 300SL in front of that. How freaking badass is that?

@parkrndl: Very nice- when I was a little kid back in the early '80s, the postmistress had one just like that. Even then, with '60s cars roaming the landscape like buffalo once did, I thought that car was something else. Have to admit I prefer the '67, but that muscular profile combined with those wonderful taillights are a Chevy high water mark.

That's some chunky glitter in the respray on that car. The original brown metallic for those years was far more elegant, with just the hint of pixie dust.

For older GM, I really prefer the early sixties Impala sedan that my high school girlfriend's mom had - black over red interior, with lots of purposeful chrome everywhere. And I had an uncle with an early '70s Impala, medium blue and very nicely tailored, all tucked in and no drama.
