Nice Price Or Crack Pipe: Evil, Primered, Weiand-Blown '72 Chevelle Wagon For $7,000? |

It's infinitely cool, yes, but it's not incredibly rare or original, so now we're down to "Is it worth $7000 for the mish-mash of old tired pieces-parts and are they any good?" If they were, I doubt the present owner would have given it a $5 paint job.
I will add, though, that as a kid growing up in suburban Mass. in the early 70's, there was at least one of these on every block, so it does take me back. Maybe for $5k, I'd say "what the hell" and enjoy the nostalgia, but not for any more than that.

We need a third catagory. We're still in cannibis territory here.

wagon- $3k, rims - $1k, supercharger/carb - $2200, headers/cam/exhaust - $500, axles $500, body work - $1k
I'll grant him $3k for the base wagon. The rims might have cost $1k new, but currently bolted to the car, you have to assess the value as a used set. $500. The same holds true for the supercharger setup. A used Weiand 144 should go for $1500, so that's what it is worth, and not the stated $2200. Headers/cam/exhaust, I'll be generous and throw down $300. The axles are worth zero. The body work is worth zero as well. The initial $3k base price includes the body as it sits.
$5300 seems fair. $7000 is too much.

Besides, with the wheels & supercharger installed, half the fun of building your own devil wagon is over. What remains is the mincy headaches; upholstery, trim, rubber.

The add starts with a question. This fine, upstanding gentleman is not demanding anything. He is probably a pillar of his community. I mean, he does want to trade into a Cambird, if possible.
It runs the 1/8th in 9.5s and 75 mph. Stretch that out to the quarter mile and you'll be doing 150 mph in 19s.
There is mystery there. Is the carb really 850 cfm? I don't know. It will be fun to find out though!
All the missing bits of seat and trim just make the car that much lighter. Imagine if the seats were in good shape and it had all its weather stripping? It would only do the 1/8th in like 9.75s and 73 mph. That's like only 146 mph and 19.5s. See, it helps!
So there you go. Nice price. No doubt in my mind about it.

Ad as in advertisement. Not add as in 2+2. Sneaky d.
BTW, when are we going to get an edit function?

Hell, the fact that it apparently runs and appears to be owned by someone that knows not to type in ALL CAPS is good enough.
