It's glorious, and of course it's a nice price.

Only problem is, it's merely the price of entry...

Nice price. If you had the means to purchase this, and a nice climate controlled building to park it in, you'd have your first exhibit for your very own museum. Your art museum.

The 600 is more than the car Idi Amin, Liz Taylor and Mao Zedong used to have. It's also more than the car Prince Ranier, William Holden, Halie Selassie and anyone else with money and a taste for fine cars and/or impressing people had back in the day. It's the car that the German Chancellor STILL rides around in. Think about how awesome that is before you click that "crack pipe" button.

It would cost a lot more than $105k new in today's money.

    Nice price all the way.

Anyone else remember that there was a Hollywood-area 600 Limo (black) that ended up in damn near every episode of Mission:Impossible (with Peter Graves) and various other T.V. series in the sixties and seventies...?

God, I love that front end!

Yes, it's rare, it's a winner at Concourse so it's damn near perfect.

    Nice price.

    No crack here.

One of these sits out on the street in my neighborhood, I'd been considering taking a picture of it for DOTS

Style, class, and elegance that cannot be bought in any modern car for any price. For that money, you are not only buying a car, you are buying heritage. History. Integrity.

    Nice Price at _any_ price.

Nice price. These are astonishingly awesome cars. Huge, fast, comfortable, and will last forever if you're in step with it's maintenance requirements.

    Still, it needs curtains.

Maybe it's just my overdeveloped cynic-sense working double time, but does anybody else think that "This car won 1st Place in the 2002 Concours d'elegance luxury class. This show was from the milestone car society in Thousand Oaks, California." means exactly nothing? I can't help but notice that "milestone car society" isn't capitalized, while "Thousand Oaks, California" is. Is this just sloppiness (in an otherwise very well written ad), or something more sinister? When I Googled "Milestone Car Society" I got the national website as the first hit. When I added Thousand Oaks to the search query, I got this site as the first hit [www.milestonecarsociety.com] There is damned little information on this site (contact page suspiciously empty, etc.), and they don't claim to be affiliated with the national organization. I smell used car dealer bullshit in epic quantities. This car might be worth the money, but the sleaze dripping off the dealer makes me want to run the other way. (maybe that's what the cheap mats are to protect against?)

Shite, the new Presidential Limo cost something like 4 million. If only Obama surfed Craigslist!

You're just going to buy this with the profits you've squeezed from your underlings anyways, who cares how expensive it is? That's the joy of despotery!

I have actually seen a few of these in my time living up here in the state that oozes old world money. They are spectacular in person, and far classier than any new Benz, or Roller today. Nice Price.

Oceans of frankly glorious burl walnut veneer. An electric shaver and a pump bottle of - shudder - God only knows. Impressively clean and neat engine bay, complete with the old finned-head I'm-not-a-Briggs-and-Stratton-I-swear...! AC compressor. It is a beautiful car, a striking statement of wealth and taste.

But for that kind of money I could buy 20 acres of rolling farmland. Pipe.

@Elhigh: For that kind of money you couldn't buy a quarter-acre vacant lot in L.A. County....

@Charles_Barrett - Now with Variable-Valve Timing @Elhigh: If you're just looking for a place to live, I think a Mercedes 600 beats either a nice place in the country or a little place in Los Angeles. It's already got curtains, so you won't need to redecorate it like you will with the farmhouse; and with air suspension, it should be able to ride out any future earthquakes in the L.A. area. And you can go back and forth between the two places as often as you want, assuming you can afford gas.
