    Y'know, aside from the liberally-applied conservative slogans, this is what I always picture when I picture a '70 Chevy pickup. Beat-to-hell faded-yellow paint with a junkyard tailgate. Usually light blue.

    I have always said, that when faced with a choice of whether of not to invade Grenada, I'm going to go with saying 'yes' to invasion. I hear they have grenadine syrup down there, and if we play our cards right, there could be tequila sunrises on the beach for everybody.

    I'm sort of tempted to go out and start using my car as a whiteboard to express my opinions to the world. It's more important they know how much I love bacon (03-1986, 12-2008) than how this guy feels about politics.

    It seems like one of those issues that you have to be a giant asshole to oppose. Apparently, the proposed 1% property tax increase was going to ruin this poor bastard's life.


    He needs to move to one of the southern states with no income tax, that New York, California, New Jersey, and Massachusetts subsidize by paying more in taxes than we recieve in services.

    @Paul Y. can't think of a better, shorter handle: Most of us down here still pay Federal income tax, State income tax, home property tax, vehicle registration tax, local occupational tax, AND a full 9%-10% sales tax on everything (including food and medicine). Talk about screwing the poor.


    My point is that even with a lack of state income tax, those states usually make up the difference in property taxes (Tennessee and especially Florida come to mind).

    @The Name's Ash78, Housewares: @lowercase: NYC is it's own insane mess. They operate like a state-within-a-state, and are shitting bricks because Albany can't give them enough money this year (since their industries are crashing and burning), while the rest of us pay some of the highest taxes in the country, between sales taxes and property taxes, on top of the state and federal.


    I've been saying for ages that NYC needs to secede or join New Jersey.

    @JHJVJR: Yep...even though conservative/liberal political ideals don't necessarily track social ideals, it's usually pretty close 90%+ of the time.
