I went to Caltech (which has no Greek system or affiliates) shortly after Animal House was released. As a campus on the whole, we had little or no respect for frats and all they stood for. This would be a popular choice for a slow cruise down the Olive Walk between the undergrad residential dorms (that we called Houses, but they were non-exclusive).

It may be a replica, but that's a pretty reasonable price, if you ask me.

I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.

And by that I mean one of us needs to buy this thing.

Here are the choices: A prop car that isn't very practical or no prop car.

That's what it comes down to. So, it is up to us to decide if it is worth the $20,000 asking price, or not.

Well, you could say it's overpriced, of dubious origins, and what the hell would you do with it once you bought it? On the other hand, if you're a collector then this could be a nice addition to your collection.

It is for that last reason that I chose Nice Price. If you are interested in owning a piece of movie history, then this car for $20,000 is a nice price.

Personally, I wouldn't drop that kind of cash on it, but I'm not really a collector and I don't have anywhere to put it. That and I want to stay married.

Buy this, and have an f*&%ed up Lincoln.
Buy a cutting torch, some hammers, a welder and a vat of black semi-gloss, and all cars can become death mobiles.
    Think about it.

As the (arguably) second-coolest Lincoln star-car, maybe- if it was the real deal, or at least a faithful replica. But, no.

@6061-Tsix: The Batmobile pictured is actually a (460-powered!) replica on a '79 Lincoln chassis, but I agree with you- The Lincoln Futura is pretty much the perfect '50s showcar.

@Slantsick, with Infinite Improbability Drive: At the Great Customizers forum at Amelia Island last week, they asked George about using the Futura as the basis for the Batmobile. It signalled the transition of his career from customizer to movie/tv car builder.

Sorry Graverobber, but this one is a replica of the Movie Car. So I would say Crack Pipe.

I gotta vote crackpipe on this one. Even if it isn't the same car in UDMan's link, I'd bet money it's a replica. The fact that Barris is mentioned in the ad doesn't fill make me any more likely to believe that it's the real deal. George Barris is already somewhat famous for taking credit for others' work (the Monkeemobile) and of passing replicas off as the real deal (about 3 different Batmobiles and a couple of Munsters' Koaches), so putting his name in the ad doesn't really add much credibility.
