But why?

Murilee, I sent you photos of a '67. They'd be cool to see, hint, hint.
These look better in pale green, by the way, but I sure wouldn't turn this one down. Lovely old boats, but not too big to handle. These had style, really the last Thunderbirds that could say that...

The only 60s Galaxie I want is the one that had the actual rocket tucked up underneath.

Also, between her car and another buddy buying a '74 Impala Guzzler Luxus, people no longer looked askance at my Dart as "That big ugly old car"...

(And after parking it right out front, I'd saunter into the place in my white dinner jacket, skinny bow tie, freshly Brylcreem'd hair, and a king-size cigarette in my mouth. VERY Matt Helm, James Bond, Man From U.N.C.L.E., etc.)
BTW, shouldn't this car have fender skirts, or were they an option? (Or, were they pilfered years ago?)

In 1966 England won the soccer world cup and we felt good about ourselves for the first time in years. If we had all had 427 TBirds to cruise around in we would have felt pretty damned awesome and soccer would have become irrelevant.
Oooh, a world without soccer.
Wait a minute, I'm thinking.
*sigh*

I am taking the Galaxie, buying the beetle and putting a new Hurst shifter on the gold card. :D

Those T-bird tail lights were some of the best ever. Sequential turn signals for the win.
Look at all that metal on the dash. Those were the days (that you injured yourself badly on the second collision).
