    As far-reaching and efficient as the New York subway system was in the latter part of the 1940s, Los Angeles had it beat with the largest light rail system in the world. . . back in 1910:

    i hope the magic win, not that i care about basketball, but at least orlando still has a working light rail system that connects the disney parks!

    I was once a semi-proud user of LA's public transit rail system. Works ok if you live/work anywhere near a line or station.

    @Tomsk Яespects the BuЯbeЯЯy BanhammeЯ: Lots of cities used to have great trolley systems that got replaced by lousy subways. I've heard stories from my mother and grand-mother of riding the trolleys around Atlanta in the 1930s-1950s with ease. Atlanta now has a rail/subway system with only TWO lines. It really only works if you want to go downtown for an event at the Dome/Arena/World Congress Center or to the airport IF you are 100% sure your flight will get back before it stops running for the night.
