    Ben, you were at the Orphan Show? You should have stopped by and said hi. I had my Rambler and my Eagle there. I talked with Junkman for a bit toward the end. His Ghia was really sweet, even if it does have an SBC instead of the proper Chrysler mill.

    AFAIK, the model name for the Davis is 'Divan' (presumably for its four-across seat), not Delta. But Gary Davis made the whole thing up as he went along anyway, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Davis Delta on paperwork.

    @jdoubleh, aberration roulante: I don't remember ever seeing a three-wheeled Isetta, do they really exist? As far as I know, all Isettas just have a very narrow rear axle and four wheels. The Peel P50 did come in three-wheeled trim though.

    @engineerd has lost the funny: I have to disagreed with that one Mr Engineered. I think that is one of the few cool Minivan designs ever made (plus the orig VW, of course). I even have a demented LeMons fantasy based on one of these- I'd like to take a early Toyota minivan and lop as much bodywork as possible off of it and make a wacky mid-engined anti-van LeMons racer out of it. Since I know I'll never get around to doing it I'd love to promote the idea for some other demented person to take on.

    @SlowMo -the anti-star: See, even you want to hack it apart to race it. Sure, with the body chopped off it would not be bad. Had they used that same chassis for a car or what we would call a crossover today it might be a different story. But no, they wasted it on a minivan. Like I said: at the end of the day, you're still left with a minivan.


    Not that there's anything wrong with that. Hell, I have a lurking desire for an R63. Personally, I find the styling better.

    This is a very cool car but pretty much mainstream as Davis automobiles go. Last year, there was three-wheeled Davis military jeep at the this event. Now that's really weird!

    @SeanKHotay: There's a good reason why you can't buy a new 3-wheeled ATV anymore. It's just too damned easy to tip over in a corner at speed.


    That said, the Davis is awesome.


    There also exists at least 1 V8 (I believe a Ford Flathead) example, too, for extra unstable hoonage potential.
