Oh, and is this my new friend Diddles car? It just might be judging by the third picture.

This is covered in win from head to toe...er...bonnet to boot.

I was watching Wreckreation Nation on Discovery last night. They had renegade soapbox races. Coolest thing you can do without an engine or a woman.

Anyway, this is the motorized version of that. Slap together whatever you have lying around, find an engine (looks like a 2.3L Ford engine from a Ranger) and put a "cage" around the driveshaft. You know, for safety.

No, the best part is: no SBC, for once.

I guess the Ford 2.3 was chosen by virtue of the fact that junkyards everywhere are full of them, but I of course would've stuffed a slant in there- to keep it in the family if nothing else.

Judging by the sheet on it, it is powered by a 2.3L Ford Ranger engine I'm guessing.

What exactly does "A an" mean?

@BTLFED thinks leavethegun- is starworthy: It probably weighs close to nothing, that would be more than enough power to blast around.

@leavethegun-takethecannoli: Oh I wasn't debating that. They said they know absolutely nothing about the car so I was trying to shed at least what light I could.

I guess Ben isn't into reading.

@BTLFED thinks leavethegun- is starworthy: There giving us examples of how to write improperly, that way we won't do it ourselves. It's very similar to "Hov sold crack, so hopefully you won't have to go through that."

@Slantsick, with Infinite Improbability Drive: What, only the editors can use the wrong words?

I deserve that, I correct people for just that all the time.

And you should change "as" to "if."

@BTLFED thinks leavethegun- is starworthy: Well, "Ranger" could be some long gone engine connotation I've never heard about or some kind of dirt track lingo. It could absolutely be Ford Ranger engine, but what the heck is that thing sticking out of the hood?

Really wish I could've found the owner on this one.

@Ben Wojdyla: It could be an air cleaner that was modified for the Ranger engine.

Or some crazy bumpkin who goes by the name "Ranger" built it in between making moonshine in his stills.

@BTLFED thinks leavethegun- is starworthy: Maybe its some sort of contraption that helps this thing get 100 mpg!

He better not let the oil companies find out.

@engineerd the Preview-free edition: You mean this guy's got a fish carburetor? Good god, I thought big oil had all of those crushed then melted into toy guns back in the '30s, right after everybody familiar with the technology mysteriously vanished.

The best part? A an exposed drive shaft painted like a barbers pole. That's genius.

I disagree, the best part is the broken speedo ! now THAT is genius
