My only gripe in the design is the use of the black trim along the bottom to give the actual sheet metal shape of the truck a leaner look. To make it less chunky. I wish they would have just cut that 4 inches off and lowered the truck the same height and it would all be fine. But, oh well.
And Why GM, why is it Subaru can make AWD and put them in their BASE model cars, and make them affordable, you buy a controlling stake in FHI stock, pirate their AWD tech and the only way you can 'make money' on that venture is to stuff it in your up-priced up-scale Crossovers?
The worst thing about this vehicle is that it's saddled with the GM badge. People never forget (and thus, never forgive) the one time the General screwed them over. Consumers aren't scientists; they're not curious to see if anything's changed over time.
I however, would love to wager that things have improved in either that or the new CTS.
@rlj676-Carbon Footprint Size - Clownshoe: I don't think there's a word in the English language to accurately convey how enraged Greenpeace et al would be at the mere thought of an Escalade-V.
I thought it looked good until this photos. That front angle is really weird. Euro-pedestrian-loving-regulations weird. And the back is too long, like a character from Jim Davis
@Syrax: Fine, then I'll repeat myself and say I hate that piece of Sebring-esque black plastic that completes the front portion of the side glass. It looks even worse on the A-pillar than on the C-pillar, where most designers use it.
@GreenN_Gold: While we're at it, let's attack the OMG TINT IZ EVUL outlook that the US seems to have, too. Check out the giant black lines around the actual "window" portion of that Fit... hell, if they're not gonna give us something we can actually see out of, at least make it look okay.

@FromaBuick6: No, it was actually really great, superb even, which is why I'm waiting for the production version to see if it goes down in fit and finish.

Like soooo many (all) of these "crossover" things, I think I might be more interested in them if they were 7/8th scale. For instance, why oh why does everything have to have 20" wheels for cryin' out loud? Sort of like that kid in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that eats something and blows up like a balloon. Fatter and fatter and fatter....

They've got lots of great cars...if only they could get people to drive and/or buy them.

I can't wait for the V version.
Oh, wait...there won't be a V version because GM doesn't believe in performance anymore.

Performance is over-rated?
I want a V everything.

You keep harping on the RX350, which we know to be an isolation chamber on wheels.
What about Ze Germans, who tend to take driving more seriosuly?
Q7 (or would it be 5?)
X3/5 (/6?)
ML-class?

It definitely looks better than both the Lexus and the Audi.
Now I just hope GM can stick around long enough to sell them.
