@bourgeoisie: Funny you would mention that... The L.A. Times reported last week that the guns-for-cash turn-ins to the Police is running at a record pace. Seems people need to buy holiday gifts more than they need their Saturday Night Special handgun...
@Charles_Barrett - Now with Variable-Valve Timing: I wonder how many of the guns turned in for these buybacks are stolen just for the occasion? Every time I hear about these events they go on and on about how all the guns are checked to see if they were used in a crime, never a word about checking if they're stolen or if they'll be returned to their rightful owners.

i see why jalop waited so long to post this story. no one fucking here gives a shit about people, just make jokes, talk about the car, and accuse a murdered man of being a thug. that's mature everyone, congrats!
Extolling maturity as a worthy goal implies the lack of said quality. Grow up.
All people die. Some well, some heartbreakingly. Having worked in the medical examiner's office of a large city for a few years, it has been my experience that those who live by grift die that way too. We die as we live, by and large.
There is such a thing as gallows humor.
"..no one fucking here gives a shit about people..."
If you are trying to say that no one here is compassionate, you are simply wrong.
You could do with a lesson or two on sentence construction though.
@regalregalia: I agree with your belief that nobody browsing this site while having sexual intercourse particularly cares about people, specifically their partner...
@regalregalia: Do you know for a fact that he wasn't a thug? So far, it appears that the car was not his, and the owner has not been identified. Do we know what caused the shooting? No, therefore we speculate. My first thought was that he cut off the wrong person, perhaps unintentionally, or even completely oblivious to the other vehicle's presence. Or maybe someone cut him off, and he started driving like an asshole in an attempt to "punish" the other driver, and that's what got him shot. The point is, we just don't know, and until we know more about why he died, it's all just speculation.

When the LA news gave Macias' name, they also said the information about the registered owner has not been released. I don't think Macias was the owner.
Perhaps following the money would help. What was Mr. Macias' business, such that he could afford such an obvious vehicle of conspicuous consumption? Did this business produce any enemies?
Of course there is always the possibility that the Bentley's driver pissed someone off enough by their arrogant driving style, that the offended decided to even the score. I have passed a few of these tools in my R32. They sometimes get the impression that merely driving an expensive and fast car means that they get to be in front of me, even when they have no driving skills.
A pissing match between a Bentley and tarted up Civic from the 'hood may have led to this.
@Cognitive_Friction: I heard a rumour that when Paris was in prison the kitchen staff put sperm in her porridge, all you could hear from Paris' cell was screams of "ewwww, there's porridge in this!"
You hear about stuff like this all the time, but seeing it in pictures is sobering. You have to wonder what precipitated the attack? Gang violence? Drug deal gone bad? Wrong place, wrong time?
It's wierd in a way. You feel "bulletproof" (no pun intended) when you have a 4WD truck that you take it off road, or a sweet hot rod on the streets. It's your domain and it's SAFE, or so it seems. If this guy was just an innocent victim, he was probably caught unaware he was in a bad area. Too bad.
@timtoolman: The driver, from East L.A. and 25 years old, bought the Bentley 2 weeks ago... It sounds like the big guys weren't happy with his independence....
Man, that shut down the 101 for like half the day. Damn shame he died. It happened right near Union Station and Philippe's, which reminds me that it's been a few months since I've been to Philippe's for a French Dip and I need to go back. Won't be doing so at 3 AM however.

Funny, when was the last time you saw criminals and gangbangers lining up at the Police dept's "buy back" to hand in their weapons?

for all we know this guy could have been at the shooting end of tens of murders.
when ktla comes out and says he was a loving father of four who gave generously to his community i will retract my statements.
but judging by the fact he was balling around in a bentley gt at 3 am, i doubt it
