We're stoked that Chrysler is offering a Dodge Challenger Drag Pak turn-key racer, but how exactly do you go about ordering one from your local Dodge dealer? Since these mighty Mopars are going to be limited production, you gotta prove you're worthy. First, you're required to submit your application in writing to a dealer, who will then fax it to Mopar Motorsports' secret lair. Remember the Challenger Super Stock from SEMA? Yeah, that one. Well, we made an early entrance to Cobo Hall today for Autorama, and happened upon some MoPar sexiness in the form of that same Super-duper Stock concept — oh yes, it's back, and in matte black with gloss black stripes. Otherwise this Chrysler Skunkwerks-designed Super Stock's the same — 6.4-liter fuel-injected Hemi utilizes 10.5:1 compression, twin-plug cylinder heads, forged pistons, a forged crankshaft and forged connecting rods to generate 525 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. The SW engineers made significant changes to the LX platform on which both the original Challenger concept and the production car are based to create the Super Stock. Most significant is the absence of the platform's independent rear suspension. That's right, it's got a live axle, complete with — no joke here — leaf springs. We're told that's to reduce wheel hop and improve straight-line performance. Topping it all off is a set of Mark Williams axles to improve the durability of that back-ass end. All in all, as you'll see from the gallery, it looks even sexier today than when we saw it back in October. I did my best teamster impression, slipping in unnoticed among the union worker bees into the cavernous Las Vegas Conference Center last night, looking to snag a sneak peek of whatever SEMA sexiness I could find.
