Peugeot's been strumming the same styling chords for a pretty long time now — lumpy, lots of overbite and wide grinning grilles. The Peugeot SR1 Concept will debut at Geneva with a busy but stylish new design direction.

The SR1 Concept borrows proportions from practically every classic GT ever lauded in glossy pages, specifically the feline forms of the Jaguar XK and Aston Martin DB lines, somewhat fitting for the lion-hearted brand. It is pretty unique though as it's one of the first modern concepts to marry classic shapes to wildly complicated detailing without looking like a train wreck, we'd even go so far as to call it pretty slick looking. That's good news because according to Peugeot this concept will be a basis for future Pug design language.

Peugeot's swinging for the deep seats on this one, saying it's got a 218HP 1.6 liter gas engine and a 95 HP rear-mounted electric motor, which when acting in concert can deliver 313 HP and a darn respectable 48 MPG. If something looking this good has over 300 HP, we don't care what kind of marketingspeak the PR folks slather on it, build it and we'll give it a fair shake.
