In conjunction with the upcoming 25th anniversary release of the greatest ghost-hunting comedy ever, Ghostbusters, Sony has outfitted the original, fully restored ECTO-1 with an extensive Sony entertainment system packed with all manner of gadgets for SEMA. The classic Cadillac ambulance features Sony Xplod subwoofers, a DVD player, iPod adapter, Sony marine amps and speakers, an MP3 player, 10-disc CD changer and a navigation system. It all seems like a bit of overkill considering the only thing that'll ever get played in there is Ray Parker Jr.'s Ghostbusters theme song with the DVD running in the background. Nissan To Sponsor GT Racing Academy Competition

Details have emerged from Sony's "PlayStation Day" in London that Nissan will be sponsoring a Gran Turismo-branded competition with one hell of an eventual prize: the opportunity to compete in a 24-hour race in Dubai next January. Getting to that race is quite the task, though. Beginning on May 23 you can fire up your PlayStation 3 and hit up the PlayStation Network to begin the dirty work of qualifying by virtual driving races. More »

Gran Turismo 5 to be 100 Times Better?

According to IGN, who got the news from Gameindustry.biz, who heard it from Croat mag Auto Klub, which pulled news of Gran Turismo Five right outta the mouth of the horse himself, game guru Kaz Yamauchi, the PS3 version of the venerated driving simulator will be "100 times more detailed" than the previous version. Scheduled for release in 2007, there are no other tidbits available besides Yamauchi's cryptic quote. Here's to hoping that there's an option to throw ham sandwiches slathered in mayonnaise and pitchers of warm Carlsberg at opposing drivers. More »
