Honda wants you to believe that the CR-Z is the reincarnation of the legendary CRX.

It may not be the spiritual successor to the CRX HF, but the Honda Civic HFP Concept is the result of Honda Access America — the in-house accessory division — taking a Civic Si and adding lightness. Both exhaust and wheels have been replaced with high-performance ultra-lightweight versions, while an aero body kit streamlines the cD for a slipperier shape. So how much more efficient is the HFP? Well...they don't quite say, but we'd venture a guess that Honda's working in one or two MPG increments here. Press release below the jump. More »

A Honda Civic kitted out with Mugen gewgaws and sold in the US? You are correct, sir. Honda says 1,000 copies of the Civic Mugen Si, shown as a SEMA concept last year, will hit US dealerships for around 30 large this October. It's outfitted with such sporting effects as a lowered, sport-tuned suspension, forged aluminum wheels, and full body dress. Under the hood will be the basic Si's 2.0-liter four producing 197 horses, and hooked to a six-speed manual. It's the first Mugen-tuned Honda to arrive in the states, though not the best, and hopefully not the last. More »

A Honda Si Civic sedan? Surely, you jest. (Nope, this is a jest-free post). Remember that concept Si sedan Honda showed off in Chicago earlier this year? It's going into production for 2007. It'll be powered by the same 197-hp four as in the Civic Si coupe, along with the same six-speed manual, traction control and stability assist, 17-inch alloys, and Si interior — all for only 60 pounds' worth of doors. And around twenty grand worth of first-time-buyer financing. More »

Send in the hoons! Honda just uncovered a new Civic Si that sports telltale wing, 197hp i-VTEC mill, six-speed manual and four doors. That's right, the Civic Si see-dan, officially a concept car, will be a straight-up 2007 production model when it's introduced later this year (in the fall, says Honda). It also sports 18" alloys, 225/40ZR18 meats and four-piston Brembo stopping gear. The company notes it's the first time in its 20-year, on-again-off-again history the Si has been available in two body styles. With its Civic Si concept, Honda looks to be on track to making its "tuner surprise" model into a player, even it stock form. Aspects of the concept will likely appear in the 2006 production model, due to debut later in 2005, including an updated i-VTEC engine — a 200-horsepower, 16-valve buzzer, with an 8,000 rpm redline, and now-obiligatory 6-speed manual transmission. Sportier still is the Civic's new design swoops, which will likely squelch the contagious yawns inspired by the current model, as often mistaken for an electric car from the 1970s as a modern street machine. We turn now to the latest in the Car Fans franchise for more on the Si. Take it, JCF. More »
