As much as we'd like to see retired F1 champ Michael Schumacher grab a Ferrari by the neck and toss it around the Green Hell, that's not what happened here. Rather, this clip shows a bit of the recent Ferrari Racing Days at the Nürburgring in which Schumi shills for the new Ferrari California by cruising around the modern racing section of the track. That's right, there's no on-board footage of a hot lap around the old Nordschleife, but that's probably a good thing as far as Ferrari is concerned, since the decidedly soft California would probably only make an embarrassment of itself. Evidently unable to control his urges, Michael Schumacher has been caught speeding in his native Germany. The Polizei pulled Schumi over driving above the posted 62 MPH limit, slapping him with a fine of about $108 and three points on his license. But that only equates to ten over the speed limit — some claim he was actually caught doing 87 MPH — not a big deal to you and me, but according to highly precise German law, Schumi should have gotten his license suspended. Michael Schumacher may have mad skills on the track, but the international racing sensation allegedly may have mowed down a pedestrian while attempting to overtake a pair of old ladies in a Fiat this weekend. Schumacher was apparently driving a Ducato van back from the Silverstone Classic in England when he knocked over Martin Kingham, who was locking up his garage. That's right, Schumi loves the van. When you're Michael Schumacher, you can pretty much do whatever you want to whatever Ferrari that crosses your path. In this case, he was lending a hand to his old teammates and testing out their revised F1 car, sans traction control. Though technically in retirement, the seven-time world champ racked up 64 laps and set the fastest pace of the day in Barcelona. A German newspaper reports that retired Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher picked up a 38th birthday present for himself. It's a rare Daytona Super Coupe. Now that Ferrari isn't totally sucking in Formula 1 (and 2005 totally sucked, by Ferrari standards), Jean Todt thinks it might be a nice place to stay for another year. Ferrari point-man Michael Schumacher was choppered in to take the F1 team's newest car for its introductory burn around the Fiorino track, ahead of its official launch in Mugello next Tuesday. Gone is the 3.0-liter V10 that once powered the Scuderia's ride in favor of a new 2.4-liter V8 built to new F1 regulations set to reduce speeds and costs. Not much has been revealed about the new car, which will likely have little in common with the F2005 V10 car, other than that which F1 fans already know: It better be a damn sight better than last year's car or another round of beatings will further damage the superteam's rep.
