It will never be mistaken for a Greg of Akron masterpiece, but nevertheless, it was an unexpected pleasure to run across this GMC Savana conversion van near the banks of the River Huangpu. We're obviously all familiar with American custom van culture, and Japan's mini-dekotoras are the stuff of both legends and dreams, but we wonder, how does one van in a communist state? Will we ever see another Tienanmen Square, only this time at the Guangzhou Van-In with the protesters wasted on Tsingtao, taking on Chinese tanks with their vans? Or are Van-Ins simply the same the world around? Thoughts, friends? – Davey G. Johnson
