"Life Size Mousetrap," is a 30,000 lb, 16-piece Rube Goldberg machine designed to smash cars by dropping a two-ton safe from twenty feet high. Video below.
"Life Size Mousetrap" is the creation of Mark Perez, a San Francisco local who brought his contraption here to Maker Faire Detroit. As you can see — the thud at the end is pretty serious, so much so that there's a 3/4" plate of steel protecting the asphalt beneath the van. Mr. Goldberg would be so proud.
