The Truth About Cars Hit by Denial of Service Attack

Uh oh. Maybe Robert Farago's talk of ominous black helicopters and wet-work by major automakers' Delta forces isn't far off. A day after the divisive auto writer (full disclosure: and Jalopnik columnist) published the e-mail address of a BMW staffer on his site, The Truth About Cars — a response to his being denied access to the company's press fleet — the site's Internet provider received a denial of service attack. As such, the Truth has been down since late yesterday, and remains so currently. "We are still trying to identify the source of the attack," Farago said, "And we'll restore normal service as soon as possible, whatever that means." As for us, we'll be spending the day inside, scanning the street for armored 7-Series sedans that may be preparing to swarm. More »
