Two common Mercedes C63 AMG complaints are: The lack of grip and understated appearance. The RENNtech C74 "Konzept" fixes both problems with a wide-as-Jennifer Lopez rear track and a widebody aero kit that makes the U.S.S. Enterprise look inconspicuous. More »

The RENNtech AMG C63 SPEC.R has a top speed of 187 MPH and luckily, sports a custom rear-view mirror-embedded radar/laser-detecting and jamming system. The Cold War may be over but the ongoing battle between Mercedes-tuning shops BRABUS and RENNtech continues to heat up. We've all seen this war of HP — BRABUS releases photos of their 530 HP AMG C63. Later that day RENNtech releases their tuned 548 HP AMG C63. Next, RENNtech tunes an SLR McLaren and throws in track time. Later in the week, BRABUS tunes their SLR McLaren and throws in a tuned Smart. But it was after RENNtech tuned a GLK hybrid last week when BRABUS deigned it necessary to create a "photon torpedo gap" between the two shops — releasing a tuned Tesla Roadster earlier today on the waves of spaceship-like sounds and LED lights. Not willing to let such a gap continue, our sources tell us RENNtech's upped the ante into a new galaxy with a mysterious "warp speed" feature. Hit the jump to hear what they had to say. <a href="http://jalopnik.com/5086119/exclusive-details-leak-on-warp-optioned-renntech-mercedes-sl65" title="Click here to read more about Exclusive: Details Leak On "Warp" Optioned RENNtech Mercedes SL65">More »

There's something a little insane about getting handed a Mercedes-Benz GLK hybrid for a SEMA build and, instead of creating a lowered and overly-painted custom, trying to duplicate a Pike's Peak Unlimited Class rally racer. But it's that insanity that has always made RENNTech one of the most entertaining tuning shops out there. Below we take the first look at the build and the specs for the RENNTech Rally GLK Hybrid, debuting later this week. More »

RENNTech is known for tweaking Mercedes' best into fire-breathing bundles of badass, and they're preparing something interesting for this year's SEMA show. The RENNTech Mercedes-Benz GLK Rally Racer is said to be inspired by runners in the annual Pikes Peak climb and marks RENNTech's first foray into modding hybrids. We'll just have to see what that means as far as capabilities go when they drop details to match these teaser images. If we were forced to like a compact luxury SUV, the GLK would probably take the nod, so we're actually intrigued by what RENNTech is cooking up. More »

The horsepower brokers over at RENNtech have turned their wrenches to the already powerful Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG to create what they consider to be a fitting heir to the Mercedes 6.3, appropriate given the name and the fact that latest C-Class has grown nearly to the size of that ultimate sedan. In order to achieve proper Überness, they've released the 6.2 AMG V8 from the grips of unnecessary restriction and managed to squeeze out nearly 100 additional horsepower. The sleek sedan achieves up to 548 HP and 510 lb-ft of torque thanks to new engine management, long-tube headers and new pipes. To handle all of that extra power you might want to opt for the new RENNtech brake kit and, just to be safe, throw in the height control suspension system and some Hasselhoff to complete the German experience. Full details in the release below the jump. More »

RENNTECH, tuners of all things Mercedes and pizza-sized, have released a digital lowering module (DLM) for monster Benzies equipped with Airmatic or ABC adjustable suspensions. The DLM allows drivers to dial-in heights for each wheel and set adjustable heights based on speed. The system uses an interface similar to an MP3 system, which makes us worried that we would accidentally bottom out the car while trying to switch between Elvis Costello albums. Press release below the jump. More »

The RENNtech SLR McLaren 722 PKG2 is yet another RENNtech-tuned version of the Mercedes-Benz SLR, following in the large-horsepower footsteps of the Mercedes-Benz SLR 722 and the original RENNtech 722. The original upped power from the SLR's base 650 horses to 722 HP, thus reducing the confusion over the name (7:22 am was Stirling Moss's and Dennis Jenkinson's starting time for the 1955 Mille Miglia in the first SLR). This new version, however, now has 740 HP thanks to the addition of a new exhaust system and a re-mapped ECU. Confusion reigns once more.

Apparently RENNtech has snagged themselves some genius advertising folks, because they sent us some pictures of their new and hugemongous 16.2" cross drilled and vented two piece front rotors - along with a P-shopped image of a Dominos Pizza for reference. The combination of breathtakingly huge rotors squeezed by eight piston calipers and delicious pizza is a fantastic idea, assuming the pads are asbestos free. For formality sake, they lose points for not displaying the actual Dominos Brooklyn-style pizza which is apparently two inches smaller than the $7,995 brakes. For those interested in brakes able to stop the planets' rotation, these can be fitted to any of the Mercedes Benz products RENNTech works with, and we bet they'll throw in that pie with the deal. More »

Not wanting to get left behind in a world of 500 horsepower Euro-bruisers, RENNtech announced today its new "stage 3" kit designed to squeeze an impressive 695 horsepower and 895 lb-ft of torque out of the twin-turbo AMG V12. The kit uses a revised ECU, revised cooling system and other goodies to get as much usable power out of the V12 as can be reasonably gotten. The addition for 65-series AMG's is $18,900 plus installation and is available on the S65, CL65 (pictured) and SL65 AMG. The track-only Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren 722 GT is coming to America, Prince Akeem style. Distributed by RENNtech, the $1.2 million toys are going to be setup similar to the Ferrari FXX program, in that when you plop down all that money for a supercar you also get special track days with training for how to not kill yourself behind the wheel (and time in the SLR karts). The racer tips the scales at just over 3,000 pounds, which means that the 680 horsepower supercharged V8 will propel you and your suddenly lighter billfold to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds. But act fast, there are only 21 slots available. For years, Florida's RENNtech has long been the first stop for well-heeled Mercedes mavens and prospective road-rallyists who wanted an output boost for their SLs. But the company offers hi-po gear across the Merc range, from the lowly (not to us) Sprinter to the highbrow SLR. The SLR too? Right. Upgrades to the pride of Mercedes-McLaren 722 take the form of upgraded intercoolers and their respective pumps, allowing for more boost and putting the 722 (named after Stirling Moss's and Denis Jenkinson's starting time in the 1955 Mille Miglia of 7:22 am) closer to 722 horsepower. As for price, consult your tax accountant. – Mike Spinelli More »
