With the likes of the Porsche Panamera, Aston Martin Rapide and Lamborghini Estoque super sedans coming to the Paris Motor Show, it made sense for young Russian designer Krasnov Igor to render up his idea of what a Ferrari four-door should look like. Thankfully, there likely won't be such a product, but if there will, we sure hope it doesn't look much like Igor's design. One could argue that the basic shape, if you squint, isn't all that bad, but the roof treatment and rear end completely ruin the rest of the package, and the wavy body panels make BMW's flame-surfacing look tame. We've already seen the four-door Aston Martin Rapide sitting pretty almost completely sans camouflage. This time we've caught the Aston Martin that Ford didn't want to build in a similarly disrobed state as it kicked off some hot-lapping of the infamous Nürburgring. These shots do show off one heretofore unknown option — a glass roof that sweeps from the windshield to the rooftop brakelight. We're just wondering if perhaps 007 will end up with one of these family-hauling Aston Martins in a new movie. Because oh yeah, Bond would just love getting this as his new sled, won't he? With Aston Martin sliding into the aegis of Prodrive's David Richards and his consortium of Kuwaiti interests, some wondered what would become of the upcoming Rapide four-door. As it turns out, Aston will continue preparing the new model for production, a plan made public following the Rapide concept's launch in Detroit last year. Chief executive, Ulrich Bez says the Rapide could arrive on its original schedule. That is, in time for a 2010 launch, adding 1,000 to 2,000 cars to the company's output. Ulrich Bez is determined to beat his old masters to market by getting the Aston Rapide out the door before Porsche puts the Panamera on sale in 2009. Bez, of course, has a running start on the Porschies, as the Panamera concept debuted at Detroit back in January. "We're not taking any orders yet. But the car will be built," says Bez. He then goes on on to confirm, "The Rapide will reach the market before the Panamera."
