The Environmental Protection Agency are certainly an unlikely owners for one of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, but that is exactly who purchased this 1970 Plymouth Superbird in 1972. The EPA decided they needed a car for emissions testing and purchased this car—then an Alpine White example with a 440 and automatic transmission. More »

Barracuda by Heart is a staple of classic rock stations across America. Pony cars are another staple of American culture, and today's Nice Price or Crack Pipe Plymouth Barracuda is one rare classic. They may have just been used cars back in 1962, but the lineup in front of Lancaster Lincoln Mercury has certainly aged well. Given the opportunity, the chances of us leaving Lancaster Lincoln Mercury without at least the red '58 Desoto and the '57 Plymouth wagon shown here would have been slim to none. More »

Ever seen a Corvette and wished it looked more like a vintage pickup truck? We haven't either, but that seems to be the line of thought that brought this odd vehicle to life. Currently listed on Ebay, this third generation 'Vette has the face of a vintage pickup truck and the body of an aging beauty with way too many modifications. More »

What qualifies as a "new car" varies greatly depending on who you ask. Some people think a car becomes "old" as soon as it is no longer showroom fresh. A former co-worker of mine who restored Model-Ts used to tell me he didn't care much for "newer cars" like my 54 year old Plymouth Belvedere. The path into the world of automotive obsession is usually a long and strange one. Often it is an infatuation with one particular car that pushes us towards a lifelong love of most things automotive. It could be a car you spent time around growing up, the first or fourth car of your own or perhaps even a car you saw only in magazines or on TV. Whatever it might be, chances are you remember it. Opening the doors on a forgotten barn or garage to reveal a dusty vehicle that needs little more than some elbow grease and a weekend spent in the garage to reverse the effects of sitting is the stuff of gearhead dreams. After reading about the trio of Italian barn finds this week, we started wondering what vehicle we dream of finding covered in dust more than any other. Authorities in Cuba have proposed laws that could mean an end for many of the classic American cars that are still in use in the country. Under current Cuban law, cars registered after the 1959 revolution cannot be bought or sold. As a result Cubans have used a mixture of ingenuity and backyard engineering to keep the fleet of pre-1959 American cars on the island running. More »

What came after the Malaise Era? The Turbo Era, of course! In 1986, when your car had a turbocharger under the hood, you wanted the world to know it. This was the philosophy behind the Starion/Conquest. More »
