"He's absolutely right, if Apps mattered nearly as much as you guys seem to think they do today you'd all be running WinMo and the iPhone would have been still-birthed. When the iPhone launched it had no apps, it had a media player (a very good one but still, same functionality was available on dumbphones), it had Maps (again, available on everything), and it had a browser (again, much better than anything else but not entirely exclusive)."
