@seatbelt123: UPDATE: Just checked out google maps (copied below)... there are about 10 branded dealerships on this 2 mile strip of 15-501 plus another hand full of small independent lots. GM failed. Their lot bordered a VW dealership which seems to be doing well, even had a recent face lift.
I used to live about 1.5 miles from the GM Superstore on in Durham (#2, University). It was always a crummy place.
It is worth noting that the place was surrounded by what appear to be thriving dealerships... including, I'm not kidding, Michael Jordan's Nissan dealership. Why Micheal Jordan you ask? Well UNC is about 5 miles up the road. It makes perfect sense - if you're a Tar Heel fan, I guess. If you live in this area you undoubtedly know the jingle "Michael's got a deal for you!" Talk about brand dilution. Blech!
The other dealerships with in a mile that seem to be doing really well are Fred Anderson Toyota, Durst Sport, Suzuki (?!!), Hyundai, and Mazda. I don't know... maybe it was something to do with the brand?
When I was in Cabo last year there was a small sign on a fence that ran around a dry river bed. It said, basically, "call this number for powered hang glider rides." Since at the time the peso/USD exchange rate was favorable and, frankly, I like real flying... I called.
Ernesto (the guy I spoke with) told me to arrive at the river bed at a certain time. When I did arrive there was a lawn chair but nothing else.
After waiting for about 10 minutes I could hear the ultra light off in the distance... He flew in from "over the mountains" and landed on the dry river bed. Frickin awesome flight.
Always enjoyed your posts Wes! Good luck building HFL, I've visited a few times and think it's great and am certain that with you full attention it will be a success.
Question: Will you have stuff on planes and cars? Maybe a "hell for cars/planes?"
@LandofMinos, In Soviet Australia, internet censors you:
I did to on the same simulator... Monochrome orange monitor. Remember when you would reach "space" and the sky would go from blue (okay orange) to black like somebody flipped a switch. Those were the days!
@Murilee Martin:
I saw Justin's team working on the big-block Z on Saturday night. Excess gas at BOTH ends of the system. Did they ever win Dangerous Homemade Technology? Certainly a contender and definitely dangerous (and funny).
