Can someone please explain why people like this buy the most non descript silver Honda Civic on the planet as their starting point?

Kid: Dude I am thinking about making this supper cool hella flush car that will get me laid like a million times.

Honda lover: Dude you godsta start with a civic sedan man them chicks have parents and if they know you drive a Civic they will think you are trustworthy.

Kid: Are you sure? My grandmother has a Civic sedan it is borring.

Honda lover: Yes, but we will lower it and put an exhaust on it and you will be smoking Mustangs all day long.

Kid: I don't know I could just buy an Eclipse, they look really cool.

Honda lover: Eclipse? You have to be kidding those things are hella expensive to ensure and you can't chop the springs to lower them because they weight too much.

Kid: OK I guess I will buy a Civic sedan, can you help me make it hella flush?

Honda lover: sure just meet me at Home Depot Sunday morning we will drop it in the parking lot and you will get laid by lunch time.

Come on kids stop jacking up every reasonable daily driver out there, I know Honda made 2 billion Civics in the past 15 years but at the rate you mess them up you are quickly killing the population. Just buy a Scion and call it a day. Ohh and cars don't get you laid a popularity or money do that.

I think there are planets lighter than a Challenger.
Pictures do nothing for it. In person it has is more powerful looking. The wider fender flares are crazy in person. This is the first white one I have seen, still think black is the best color.
I always knew GM was screwing us. The price of cobalt got too high and they had to dilute their offerings.
But when you see three cars with silver mirrors everyday and not a single one of them is an S4 you start to realize the silver ones have gone the way of the M badge on BMWs.
Have you not seen these cars out in the wild? The 6 looks like a huge bloated turd. The CTS turns heads and stands out from the crowd. The fact that it is faster is just a cheery on top. For those with the money please just buy and drive some more CTS-V's please. Once a week I end up in traffic with a black CTS-V coupe and it makes me smile from ear to ear.
Why the hell is it sooo heavy? Because the designers are lazy and just take from other cars. Look at the whole thing as something different and there has to be a way to make it light safe and lux. Or just go ahead and waste this new technology making people feel like nothing has changed.
Sorry I am calling bull shit on your theory.

Exhibit #1 Smart car how much space is there between the front seat and the front bumper? Not that much.

There is no safety reason for this thing to look like a Durango. There may be preceived safety in that front end, but that is a whole other story. Vehicles should be designed to take advantage of their powerplant. The three box look was perfect for internal combustion, electric is different and it should be designed differently. Or maybe we should just go back to steam engine designs?

Designers STOP MAKING ELECTRIC CARS LOOK LIKE REGULAR CARS!!!!!!! You have a chance to transform transportation and what do you do? You retain the area where internal combustion goes. Please get your heads out of your asses and think.

Elton - make a minivan, most minivans are used to take kids to school then run an errand and go back to the garage most of the day before getting the kids again. Use electric motors near the wheels so you can make it small with a huge interior. They are perfect because you can fit two charge cycles in at the same location.

OR - go ahead and make a Durango with electric motors.

The Taxi that you like is also an awesome toy. We have a set of four of those and my boys love them. They are fast for what they are and are just the right balance of soft but tough. Last week I even used them to teach them the beauty of a ramp. Ohh the look on their faces when daddy made the car fly through the air. The tiger striped convertable is the fastest in our set, if you have the same set I would be interested to know if the same is true of yours. Yes we did race going both ways across the floor just like on the salt flats you have to go both ways to prove you are fast.
S2000 is neutral and soooo adjustable. It has just enough power to make it interesting and that feeling of "ohhhh shit this thing is going to explode... ohh there are still 1,000 rpms before red line" is really ncie. Best part is my first lap I was a second and a half off the owner's pace, meanwhile he was four seconds slower in my car than I was. I would say we are both about even in the driver skill department it is just soo much easier to drive the S2000.

That groupon sounds awesome I would probably buy a couple to get more seat time, two laps would go by really quick. Everytime I have done a track day it has gone past in a flash and that has been driving four sessions and riding along during the off sessions. That would be awesome at Mid-Ohio, but I would be nervous about others driving those cars on that course with me anywhere near them.

Thanks for the link, I am going to Miami for a weekend next month and am now going to try to swap from Avis to a 458... ohh wait that would be $4K for two days :( Well Fiat owns Ferrari and Chrysler so I guess my 200 will be in the same family.
They exist just not in the midwest. I live in Ohio and have tried with a couple companies to get an event put together where they would bring half a dozen exotics to a given location for a weekend and have 12 or 18 people share the cars for two days on some exciting roads. The issue has been cost, the rental is not terrible itself BUT adding transportation to Ohio is a killer.

I have wanted to reach out to Automobile to see if they would do an article on high end sports cars with regular people driving the cars. Give people a chance to try something they would never be able to afford and see what their reactions are. Best would be at a track to see if people would be faster in a faster car they have never driven or their own car which they know from driving it. This all comes from driving other people's cars at AutoX events and finding out how easy some cars are to drive fast. S2000 is the easiest car to get in and go fast right away, dam is it easy to drive fast.

Just look at those wheels! I would accept interior parts falling off from time to time for a car that looks this great.
He said from the get go he couldn't afford it long term but he figured he could swing it for a couple years of the lease. There is something to be said for having a time share system for these high end cars. I have been talking to a few friends about pooling our money to get an Elise. Its not a car any of us could afford to buy and it is nothing we could make work as a daily driver so if a group of us all chipped in and shared it we could all enjoy the car. If there was a system out there where I could buy credits for a selection of sports cars I would sign on.
I would like to thank all of you who are going to buy one of these right away. I plan to pick up a used one five years from now. If a couple of you could just leave the thing alone and enjoy what they have done without modifying the thing to hell and back their future owners would be very thankful.
I love the little lines on the B pillar, a few years ago there was one of these at the Good Guys show in a creamy white and I probably walked around that car six times just taking in the details. I remember the interior was red and way overdone, but the outside was nice and clean.
Subaru gets their credit in cash on every one sold no matter what badge it wears. I had the same issues, until I thought it through and realized Toyota needs the PR much more than Subaru. Toyota is using this to bring life back to their appliance offerings. Subaru is taking a risk on leaving their all wheel drive niche in the US. If you get paid on both who cares which one sells better? My guess is Subaru will make these pretty much special order cars and sell them at a premium. Toyota on the other hand is going to sell a shit ton of them and will have a bunch on the lot at all times.
I was thinking "why on earth did he fly?" Like coach Edwards always says "You live to drive the 4.0!"
Come on Sergio give us this!!!
