I haven't been on nearly as much as I used to, commenting especially, but I still do look at most of the Gawker Sites (Jalopnik the CLEAR favorite). I was poking around Gizmodo tonight though, and found something totally shocking. [gizmodo.com] Looking at the comments in this thread, specifically from the Gizmodo writers / editors, makes my heart sad.

Thanks Jalopnik editors, thanks Ray, for not being reasonable, conversational, and not power hungry and douche-like.... #oppositelock

This might be my only chance to become a super hero. However, I might unintentionally turn into "wino-man" with the ability to not hold down a steady 9-5 job, or have respectable hygiene..
Hey, my 87 towncar takes offense to that. (although in style only, stupid slow 5.0)
Sometimes I think long and hard about little cracks...
Interesting, even though the app says "unreliable", my T-Mobile G2X says 0...i'd post a screenshot, but I don't have hosting anywhere.....
Am I the only one who wasn't aware of "brand name" produce? (or maybe, there being an option?) At the grocery store I shop at (a good local one that tries to carry as much local as possible, etc.) there aren't XXX brand bananas vs. dole bananas...there are just bananas....

I've never comparison shopped bananas (or other produce) cause there's never been more than one "brand" of each - unless, are we talking canned?
Is it just me, or is it a comment on the new car market that the Porsche 0-60 is "only" 7.8 seconds?

I know I'm a poor schlub, but nothing I've owned comes close to that...

Maybe my personal driving experience just sucks...I hope to upgrade that within the next few years..
Mine is bolted down, but as mentioned in other comments / videos, a sharp whack will do the same thing.

However, I spent 5 minutes whacking it, until my hand hurt...

(the safe, I mean the safe!)

and mine still didn't open, so perhaps mine isn't as cheap / sucky as the ones in the videos...
Okay, I realize you get what you pay for.....I paid for one of these "safes", as I figured it was "safe" and it was inexpensive.

Does anyone have a better idea of an actual "safe" that can be had for cheap? (less than $100 maybe?)

If not, I guess I'll just have to hope that bad guys don't use the internet.....
Same Room, Same Couch - If the option to play co-op on a single box is there, we'll take it. But unfortunately, that's not always an option
If developers did this, I would be all for it. Extend it to other media, and even better.

I buy a physical book in a bookstore - For $X more (I'd say reasonable amount like $3-$5) I get a fully legal ebook to read on my nook? Awesome, I'm in.

I buy a copy of a game on 360, and am able to buy it on steam for an additional $10? I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I wish more media producers would jump on board with this. It's ALMOST like the digital copy with dvd (except in that case, the digital copy is ridiculously DRM riddled), so I rip it anyway
So here's a tangent to this:

My Wife and I each have our own xboxes.

Some games are awesome, and still allow single console multi player, but others do not.

If we want to play a game that offers multiplayer, but only over xbox live, we have to buy two copies of the game (to take advantage of a feature that's already there).

For a while, we justified modding an Xbox, copying the game. I didn't feel that was a problem at all.

(Our xbox did get banned from xbox live, we bought a new one, and I haven't bothered to mod it, due to the hassle, etc.)

But, should we have to buy two copies of a game, just to play together? (Something that good developers offer for free?)
I came here to say DeSoto or Pontiac... I love the old DeSotos, but I tend more towards the 50's - 60's models - [cgi.ebay.com]#ht_500wt_1182
I still own the towncar....(87 though). I DREAM of acquiring a new 5.0 drivetrain for it...lets be honest, the 5.0 from 87 is a gutless wonder...
Car wash Saturday night a week ago (before the road trip). Seemed fine most of the week, but Saturday / Sunday coming home this last weekend was when I noticed it. #oppositelock
Ok Oppo, I need some advice. The wife's towncar is acting up :(

It's an 87, fuel injected 5.0. The car has just over 67k miles, but it is 24 years old. It's been maintained pretty well.

At low RPMs, every once in a while, it's like it quickly dies, but then keeps going. I want to call it a low RPM misfire, but it's so sporadic (maybe once every 30 seconds or so) that I don't even know if that makes sense? (Wouldn't a misfire be more regular?)

It happens in park, or in any gear, so I don't think it's transmission slipping (although that was considered at first..)

Does an intermittent low RPM misfire make sense? The plugs, wires, cap, and rotor are just barely a year old, but I'm not ruling that out, just not sure.

The other thought was that it could maybe be fuel starvation? Could be a fuel pump / filter issue maybe?

We did just take it on a 2000 mile round trip road trip, where we went from 5000 feet to sea level and back, and through some VERY hot heat. It ran fine most of the time, but I noticed it starting in the heat on the way back

Any thoughts?

Thanks #oppositelock
Also, I wasn't on the interwebs yesterday at all, or more than 10 or 15 minutes all this week - I'm noticing a new layout - is this Jalopnik 5.2? I hope 6.0 re-enables the feature to upload images from a hard drive.... #oppositelock
Thanks, link didn't work, but I found the article...so basically, big radar dish?

Interesting plane, nonetheless.

I'm not a huge plane guy, but there were some cool ones. an F-18, and an F-14, which are probably the two I remember the most from my childhood of model planes.. Also a phantom. I'd have liked to spend more time there, but my 4 year old was being very hyperactive, and ended up rushing us through most of it. #oppositelock
finally able to get back on.

Went to the midway yesterday, it was incredible. I grabbed some pics with my cellphone, but don't have a flickr, so can't link them. However, they had one of these (see image)

Can one of you planeopnik folks explain that craft to me? I don't understand the disc "tailfin".

Yesterday we hit the science museum, natural history museum, and the beach.

Flick - we hit Hash House a Go Go, it was incredible. The portions were ridiculously large

We hit Sea World today - I'd never been there before. It was pretty good (but more theme park-y and less informational than I'd expected/hoped).

Tomorrow we leave San Diego. We'll stop in Vegas, just for fun on the way home.

Overall, San Diego has won me over, I can definitely see coming back again.

Legoland was awesome. We spent 2 days there, and pretty much took it all in (minus the waterpark). Miniland was incredible.

Switched hotels, and the new one's "wireless" access doesn't reach our room - super lame... I'm tethered to my cellphone, so my access is limited.

Sea world tomorrow, and probably USS midway Thursday.

This is the first time the wife and I have taken our 4 year old on a real vacation (more than just two or three days, etc.), so we're learning a lot.

San Diego is gorgeous, and apart from the fact that there's just tons of it, traffic here moves surprisingly well #oppositelock
