As a liberal myself I must say I would not take offence to this event the slightest. What annoys me is when people buy SUV's because they think they are safe or they are trying to compensate for their own deficiencies but if you are living the dream like these people are I have no problem with 1 mpg. This is passion and art for these people and not just a way to show off.

Cool event no matter what.

<![CDATA[quayzar commented on NICE MyCar, A Study On How To Shrink A Suzuki X90]]> I could get better range out of the '82 electric Renault 4. WTF!? For that price I might as well convert a Suzuki Swift into all electric that runs off of my own self satisfaction. That would only take 7 and a half hours to charge.

<![CDATA[quayzar commented on Godzillas, Geishas And Organized Crime: 0-60 Delves Into Motorex]]> It sad that it's so hard to get a car like that in the states yet it would more than pass inspection at any inspection centre in all of Virginia.

I guess that's what we get for not having to deal with Roger's Wireless and the lot.

<![CDATA[quayzar commented on Smug Gets Home-Grown: 2011 Toyota Prius Officially To Be Built In United States]]> I actually like Waffle House but balance it out with vegan food.

That's what happens when you live in a liberal city in the South. (Is Virginia still the South?) We have organic BBQ and sweet "green" tea.

<![CDATA[quayzar commented on Smug Gets Home-Grown: 2011 Toyota Prius Officially To Be Built In United States]]> @nearly everyone

What did it say about the Prius again? Are gay people going to be building the Prius out of old smug suvs, US of A and environmentalists? Please explain as these comments have gone off the deep end.

P. S. I'm not actually making fun of anything listed just the comments and the comment...ers above.

P. P. S. Gay = OK (though I prefer women).

<![CDATA[quayzar commented on Innovative Swede Builds Tuff Willys Caprichero!]]> @abruey: While you are right about that car not being a '80 Capri your attitude was still rather obnoxious. It's one thing to be right but being polite can go a long way. If you were right without acting like a snob everyone would be complementing you on your correction instead of trying to prove you wrong and call you "douche bag". Though I believe they had that body type since '69 when the car was developed though '71 was indeed the first model year for the North American market though this one is from Sweden so it could even be a '69 or '70.

@ThnderbltDoherty: This reminds of the European rednecks I met in France. Staying true to rednecks of the US they had a rusty "jacked up" Toyota (non-runner) and a Renault 4 with multiple coloured body panels (runner).

<![CDATA[quayzar commented on The Only Thing Dyson Sucks At Is Making Electric Cars]]> But isn't the Dyson hand dryer no better than an early 90's Mitsubishi that does the same job but more efficiently. I guess you would have to see one in Japan for yourself. That being said he is bringing that technology to other markets and the vacuums aren't bad from what little time I have had with one. Regardless of the hand dryer I don't understand the animosity here.

<![CDATA[quayzar commented on Mio Joins The Cellphone-Enabled GPS Club]]> @FreeMan:
I think the reason it will not go back to the call is due to the use of CDMA rather than GSM on Verizon cell phones. Only being able to maintain one connection at a time means that while you are making your call you are no longer actually connected to the network in order to use the GPS.

I could be wrong but I know that is how CDMA handles data.

<![CDATA[quayzar commented on 1976 Buick Regal]]> The other day I saw a 68" delta 88 olds. With rims so large the bumper was above my roof. All I could smell was petrol and all I could hear was the baseline from gangster rap. Needless to say I wasn't to keen on seeing, hearing, and smelling this big thing burn watered down 87 octane to the tones of fify cent being stuck going two miles per hour on route 29 on my way back to work from Bodo's bagels. I took some pictures but accidentally deleted them making the only benefit of the experience completely useless.

In any case I will always be on record saying this trend is streetarded.

]]>
<![CDATA[quayzar commented on Knight Rider-Themed GPS System Gets Original Voice Of KITT]]> Why does it have to be a Mio though. I never much liked their interface much less the fact that the time is always off by an hour unless you trick it into thinking it's in the wrong time zone. They are getting better but still if anything should work it's setting time. All that aside I know have some respect for Mio...I think.

<![CDATA[quayzar commented on What's The Least You've Ever Paid For A Car?]]> My cheapest car came in the form of a 1986 Buick Skyhawk costing me $200 in 2003 followed by a 1996 Saturn SC1 coupé for $600. Both still working, both previously had the front passenger side fender replaced, both have leaks but the Saturn leaks oil and the Buick leaks water via the windscreen.

<![CDATA[quayzar commented on Jezza Hates the Mini Cooper S Clubman]]> I have to agree I just don't like what has been done to the new Mini. Even the Suzuki Swift more closely resembles a proper mini than those things. (That's bad by the way.) At first I didn't mind the redesign but the more they tweek it the less I like it.

Give me a classic Mini any day.

<![CDATA[quayzar commented on Hoon of the Day: Rev, Taurus SHO, Rev!]]> If you are going to destroy something do it properly by causing a massive explosion. <![CDATA[quayzar commented on OK: Is NASCAR a Sport?]]> While I think NASCAR is a mockery to the rest of motor-sport it still qualifies as being a sport but as of the moment it's only above professional wrestling and amateur wheelchair over sixties ballroom dancing, yes pro-pong is in fact still above it.

<![CDATA[quayzar commented on Microsoft Zune Patent Reveals Playlists/Music Over WiFi]]> So is this system going to work based off genre, or user generated comments? <![CDATA[quayzar commented on What's The Worst Car Of All Time?]]> My worst car in the US was an '86 Isuzu Trooper. The head gasket blew three times in four years and that's even after replacing the engine once. Two transmissions also went in it's short miserable life. Oh and who could beat wiring that made Lucas Electrics look fantastic. (One should not be required to have a fire extinguisher while listening to the radio).

As for the UK my '94 Rover 800 with leaky windscreen, power manual windows (I have to use my hand to raise or lower it), oh and faulty starter have not made me a fan but at least I have as of now not found it on fire which is a vast improvement over my US vehicle list.

<![CDATA[quayzar commented on NBC Universal Pulling the Plug on iTunes Content]]> By pulling out of the iTunes store I hope they aren't just going to make it a Zune only offering. There's nothing worse than DRM but crappie DRM like the Zune has. They're going to be WMV instead of MP4s too.

Just to make sure you know I hate Apple's use of DRM too. But surely don't like the WMV format and Microsoft skipping out on the whole Plays for Sure stuff too. It's just a dick-ish move is all.

<![CDATA[quayzar commented on Save Mopar!]]> @no_slushbox:
You're right. Chrysler is in their current stint of problems because they forgot about their legacy. Chrysler needs to take the time to remember why they are relevant at all and when or if they do they will know not to through away something as potentially relevant as Mopar.

To put it simply you can't get anything out of something you have thrown away.
