Work as a web developer -- my garage has a 1998 Plymouth Neon, a 1994 Mazda RX-7 (running great) and a 1987 Mazda RX-7 with LS1 swap (not running yet).

With that said, I ride the DC Metro train to work every day.

There's a variety of real-ish cars at the California Legoland -- I saw this Lego AE86 when I was visiting earlier this year.
Congrats on the COTD and the extra cars to love!

I was thinking a bit about my own rotary experience last night -- my daily driver's alternator seized and I had to replace it, so I've been using my FD3S for driving around town. I eventually got the DD back up and running, but haven't bothered switching back to it since I've been reminded how much I like driving the RX-7, even if DC traffic is rough for it.

That being said, it's a rare car that can get lower MPG while being driven itself than when being towed by a truck. Still love it, though.

He's in NYC after tweeting that he'll be helping out with a Top Gear production. ([twitter.com]
It's from the same Ebisu circuit as the Hibino picture, here's Daigo Saito taking flight in his Toyota Chaser.

Keeping it locked on the Jalopnik channel for the eventual non-opening of the Lemons store... These are awesome!
Good to see he's behaving himself...for now: [jalopnik.com]
@GeeHalen: Here is another 4 rotor contribution for your collection. :) Unfortunately I can't enjoy either right now, but something to look forward to when I get home later.
@500wishes: I've always wondered if the RX-8 followed a different part of the RX-7's legacy. It seems like people currently remember the 3rd Generation FD3s and its firebreathing performance, great looks and impossibly complex turbo setup. On the other hand, I've run into a lot of former owners of (for example) naturally aspirated 2nd generations. These aren't necessarily Jalopnik reader types, rather normal people who remember it as a fun car to drive and beat on with great handling. I wonder if the RX-8 is true to this part of the heritage, but most people miss this due to the FD3S' media presence/recognition.
@twitchykun(level 50 Jalop-Knight): I'd be more partial to FEED, Panspeed or AutoEXE. Besides the Fortune kit, Veilside's RX-7 works were atrocious, IMO. I do love me some RE-A, though... Have their dolphin tail catback on my FD3S.
He sure got zipped up in a hurry...
As Murilee and the rest of (ov?) the V8olvo team knows, that's not MJ, but rather Horgh.

Probably forgetting to torque down the rear brake caliper bracket hard enough on my RX7. It popped off during one of my runs at an autocross school and just sort of left the caliper hanging on by one bolt after scoring the inside of my wheel. The larger fail might have been that I wasn't able to repair it myself because I had to run out and work the course. Instead, my friend worked on it while I chased cones. :\
OH MY GOD BEAR IS DRIVING! HOW CAN THAT BE?!
@ursa:

There's a "Made in Italy" stamp on most of the the rail cars I've been in. I think the logo is a horse (yeah yeah yeah, I should remember better, but I'm usually tired or not paying attention when I ride)

The trains get moving at a pretty serious clip -- at times faster than the traffic on the streets below (granted that means nothing in DC), but I'd say they hit 40~50 MPH in some places.

Probably biased since I own the car and have these on it, but...

3rd generation Mazda RX-7, so-called '99 Spec' tail lights. (I believe they actually debuted on the '96 Series 7 model.)

They have the 6 round light theme from the 1st & 2nd generation present, but still forms a stylish piece across the back of the car. Manages to be both forward-looking and a bit retro too.

(Not hip on how to post images anymore:)

So if I'm looking to pick up one of these PUMA's used, say 10 or so model years into this, would I actually end up with a COUGAR instead?
@jstn:

More to the point, what track allowed a car with 4 occupants and zero helmets out for a lap?
