Time for another shameless plug: Curbside Classics has flown the TTAC coop and is up and running: [www.curbsideclassic.com]
Congratulations, Murilee. DOTS has been "inspiring" to me. You know the old saw about "imitation..." Keep it up the good work! Got another 500 out there?
Given the jag's all-aluminum structure/body, this may have been a bit challenging.
It's not a real RR; look at the windshield frame, which is missing the integral "vent" windows of the real thing. The rest of the body looks all misshapen too.
Sorry, Murilee. No 427's were available in the Tbird. Only the 390 and 345hp 428.

The 427 was a street-version of a track engine. To the best of my knowledge, it was available only in the Fairlane/Torino, in order to satisfy NASCAR requirements. It had a very high, lumpy idle unsuitable for a slushbox, especially in a car like the TBird.

Bigh time Identity Crisis Hell: The "Bentley" is actually a Rolls, not a Bentley with a Rolls grille, since that's the only distinguishing difference between the two, back then. And the "Rolls" is actually an Austin Princes with a Rolls grille.
@Maymar - now with 37% less anonymity:

Not so easy, this was well before the boxer era for Subaru. The 360 had a vertical twin two stroke air cooled engine, just like lots of Japanese bikes then.

$1297 = $7651 today...

Will there be a John McCain special edition?
All these 2010 Prius spy shots are of mules, cobbled together out of old Prius parts, a few new parts, and...

This is from a Toyota insider; T. is very secretive about the final product.

@Ash78: That would be fake Mercedes plastic hub caps.
(plug time)I have an article up today comparing the 2010 Prius and 2010 Honda hybrid:

@P161911: No it's not. Back then, pickup campers were very popular, but were commonly overloaded and prone to dangerous sway. Ford and Chevy addressed this with special long-wheelbase versions. The difference between them was that the Ford kept the same 8' bed, but extended the wheelbase, resulting in a very short overhang. Chevy (and GMC) had a "Longhorn" version that had an extended wheelbase and a longer bed, about 8.5'. Find us one of those, Murilee.
I Used to love to show off that electro-magnetic fan clutch on my 403 and 404's to car geeks; why didn't Detroit take that up. I'd buy a new one right now.
$850, the magic number for old 404's. That 404 is exactly the same year, color and price that I paid for my first 404 in 1977. It it ran like a charm for years, and then I passed it along for...$850. Maybe this is my old car...
I'm very proud of the 1966 Ford F-100 I bought 21 years ago for $500. Think a 2008 Ford truck will still be running and easy to fix in 2050?
Wes: "In Japan, they realized that in order to protect their auto industry it made sense to keep outsiders off their soil with expensive import restrictions on vehicle sales."

Not true. What "expensive restricitions" German brands sell very well in Japan. Japan actually bent over backwards to help GM sell Cavaliers there. Guess what? The Japanese didn't like them!

The EU mileage ratings are notoriously optimistic, and not representative of real-world driving. Remember all the hype about the TDI Jetta "Prius killer"? Its EPA numbers are a not so-hot 30/40mpg.
@Mad_Science: Between 1987 and 1993.

PaulY: "I want a Hurst shifter in my xB" Me too!
