#1 Looks like it is going for the "Crossover" market. I think she has an adams apple
There are two I kick myself for almost monthly, and it has been years.

Murilee,
Good luck with the book, let us know when we can buy it. Thanks for bringing me to Jalopnik and keeping me here. No matter what you do or where you go you'll still be the Saucy Minx of the Pick and Pull.
@hawkeye18: Holy Shit. Just Holy Shit.

All I want to do now is go home and hang with my dog.
Boy, you killed my Monday.
@RenaultAlliance: I believe the largest US production car was the 76 Fleetwood. The longest in the world I think is the Mercedes 600 of the sixties.
Because I don't have 'shop here at home, I'll have to describe it.
Two tone; White with small silver flake metallic over most of the body. (lets be real, it is a 66 and you don't really what to make the body perfect) What is white now, goes grey with a sliver flakes, large size bass boat. Black out the rear windows (to keep the prying eyes), and use these wheels: [wheelvintiques.myshopify.com]
@jdepould: "Don't we have laws against vague nonspecific laws?" ..Sort of
@zekestone: It isn't money, it is aggravation and grief. I had someone rear end me because they weren't paying attention and to quote "third brake light isn't working." The car was never in an accident up until that point, it is all original with less then 70k miles. Parts aren't made for it. It took a little over six months to complete repairs. The repair took four different bumpers to rebuild one, sheet metal from two.
@AustinMiniMan: I use Condon & Skelly. I never had an issue with them. It is in large part the coverage I have that puts the restrictions on.
"That being said, maybe your real problem is living in NJ." ha! True enough, but I really do like it here. On the other hand did you ever say or think 'Dam Jersey Driver!' ?- That's all there is here, there is no escaping it.

I think what got under my skin about the rant/article was all of the excuses, seemingly laziness and complete lack of acknowledgment of market forces. Yes, a 57 Chevy is a 'dime a dozen' car but market forces have driven them up. But at one time it was just a used car. Why not get something like that today? I remember when 442's, GTO's etc were just 'used cars'. If I could actually go back and buy half of the old Mopars I passed on because I wasn't fond of them....jeesh!! (I am thinking of you Mr '70 Super Bee 440 6 pack w/4sp) There are a lot of 'older used cars' that will be classics in a few years; '79 Turbo Mustangs, most V8 Fox Body Mustangs, 3rd & 4th Generation Camaros & Firebirds (especially the 5.7 liters) Impala SS, Monte Carlo SS, Buick and Olds Wagons etc. What i perceive is that the 'older used cars' now aren't as 'cool' to Mr Douglas.
I have a 'classic' that is worth a good amount of money, let me give you an idea what goes through your mind while driving it.
1) Gee, these brakes made in the 40's aren't like news one. I hope I can stop in the 100 feet, from 40 mph. Ever think about the safety features from the '40? Neither did the designers, there aren't any.
2) Hope this a-hole following me on the phone knows that I don't have a third brake light. A 'Fender Bender' will cost me a few grand, after insurance, IF I can find the parts.
3) Can't drive near a mall, insurance forbids it. I live in NJ, it is all near a mall. Can't park, insurance forbids it.
4) People don't respect my regular car, scratches, door dings, hit and runs etc. You want me to drive a classic that is all original?

Don't get me wrong, I drive my car. But only around my town, early on weekend mornings. It is less about the car than the other morons on the road.
@Brian DuBois: I met John Force in the stands at Reading one year during qualifying. I was watching the sportsman class just looked to my left and there he was just watching just like me. He mentioned my tshirt (good guys) asked me if I had a hot rod and for the next ten minutes we talked hot rods. Real nice guy with out a hint of ego or snobbery.
@WheatKing: Brings a tears to your eyes, burns your nostrils, sinuses and throat. - God I love Nitro.
@kyle.horton: That is awsome. I agree with the Mercs. One of my PCs has this as a Desktop.
@Sam Fankuchen: I don't know. I see some after market parts, seemingly clean and unpretentious, no obvious signs of abuse. Not my style but I could see where it would be fun.

The El Camino seems pretty cool too.
I like it but as stated below the price is a little steep for my blood.
@87CapriceEstate: I do like. But if it were me I'd bring the roof all the way back. I do appreciate it though.
This just in from the wedding...
