The ZL1 (yes I am sure it was badged as a ZL1) was at the philadelphia autoshow when I went on Saturday. I don't have any pics, but maybe someone else does.
@sr20spitfirehotrod: thats totally not true. I drove the nurburgring last year for about $600 including laps, gas and rental-race car outfitted with a roll cage.
According to the craigslist post, this guy is a mechanic (yeah, ok) going to school for "industry design"... what ever that is. Day one of school "Hello, welcome to INDUSTRIAL design 101" Someone needs to stop this guy before he gets a job.
@alextsmith: the wing was up (for the second race at least) in the video @ 2:57. They were braking, but in top speed mode, I believe the wing is totally locked down.
@DennyCraneDennyCraneDennyCrane: Agreed. I have a 370Z which takes the cake for ugliest door handles ever. I curse nissan for not pulling these out of the parts bin for the change from 350Z to 370Z. The interior door handles on the Z also suck. Flimsy plastic, no double-pull to unlock feature.
@eggwich mcsandwich: Actually, I drove the suzuki swift (sport) on the Nurburgring last September and that thing was awsome! It handled great, it was light, it had decent enough pickup and was generally fun to drive. It wasnt able to keep up with the Lambos and Porsches, but it was able to keep me out of their way. Its a cliche but it sure is fun to drive a slow car fast
Definitely around the nurburgring... though unfortunately not with Sabine, but with the awsome dude from rent-racecar.de. Before i went out on my own in a Suzuki Swift Sport, this guy took us on a mega-hot lap in his VW Touran van. It was the best rollercoster I have ever been on. Imagine flyin around the 'ring at breakneck speed in a VAN! Sabine would be proud of this guy. this guy has logged thousands of laps around the ring and is simply amazing! He was passing 911s, M3s and even bikes! best...day...ever
I was at the nurburgring on 9/27/2009 and I saw a BMW (looked like a 5 series) dressed up like this. I have a few seconds of video if you guys want it. Im not sure how clear it is as I havent watched it yet.
@Matt Hardigree: It definitely does. This guy got that van around the track way quicker than I could ever hope to get around in anything driving myself. he passed a porsche and a few bikes like they were standing still.
I just came back from the nurburgring and in addition to driving it myself in a Suzuki swift sport, I went around with the owner of the rental agency (www.rent-racecar.de/gb) in a VW touran. The guy has thousands of laps under his belt and flung that van around like it was a WRX. It was exhilarating.
@anoteoftruth: unfortunatly his company is not making an electric car. That was a misinterpretation of a statment he made. I would drive a dyson though.
