I must say that I love the look of this car, and really all of the Lotus' that debuted at Paris...

But it really is the end of an era. The "go-cart-on-steroids" type car is dead. Sure 2400lbs is really light, but not nearly light enough to be a real Lotus. And reviving the Elan name is a rather large car is just disturbing. I remember my neighbor having an old Elan and thinking that the car was so small and so light that there is no way it could be safe, and that it was spectacular just for that reason. Now, a 911 fighter? It should have been a Miata fighter. What is this world coming to?? And now im just rambling on like the Allman Brother...

Please Lotus, go back to what you do best, adding lightness to freakishly light cars. These new cars are too complex, especially for a company that is known for is simplicity.
Definitely gotta be a regular Lancer, or even the old Ralliart ones. People always put wheels or a big wing on them, trying to make it as nice as an evo, but its no evo
Easy, I'd drive a late 90's v6 mustang with a knockoff Cobra body kit, but keep the stock V6 exhaust so everyone knows that its not a real Cobra, and try to race everyone around me
Holy poop... Hello Dream car, nice to meet you
AutoBlog.com has more info on that guy mcfly and his Genisis coupe #tips
That was fantastic! Man that guy is awesome. Jalop show get an interview with him about this bit and his SHO
I actually dont mind it at all... It looks good in that matte finish way, kinda like black matte finish. Plus it is functional. I don't, however, like the wheels. I think that looks kinda ridiculous. Good idea tho, seems like it would be a better fit on a Subbie STI, something that you could go rally with
My favorite has always been a 1968 Charger. I'd take mine with the 440ci, because the 426ci Hemi is a little bit out of my price range. IMO the '68 is a hell of a lot better then the '69.
@KeyserSoze - Professional Blog Commenter: Completely agree. There isn't even another car in the running for me. The most beautiful car ever made in my opinion.
@cobrajoe: Actually, Vanilla Ice is the name of the "artist" from which the lyrics "Rollin' in my five-point-oh" comes from. Its from his one hit "Ice, Ice, Baby" from the early nineties where he talks about his 5.0 Mustang
@snapoversteer 'bout to get told: I'm placing the over/under at 15 for this thread
Hmm, i wonder how many Vanilla Ice jokes will be made at the expense of this car...
@vdiddy210: AGREED, that would a be perfect station wagon. Plus with the new AMG engine, a 5.5 twin turbo V8, that could be one sick ride... If only those people working at MB were as smart as us...
Most Legendary... my vote goes to the Chevy 427ci 435hp Big Block. Rated at 435hp for insurance purposes, that thing would destroy rear tires. Pair that in a 1968 Corvette with side pipes... wow...
@rebeldevil: agreed, I like the idea of the shooting-brake, because that would differentiate it from the regular CLS, but by making it a 4 door, they are gonna ruin that great look that the beautiful CLS trademarked
thats one of the sickest truck pictures I have ever seen.... Its nice to see someone actually using their vehicles off-road capabilities
I want a early 70's BMW 2002tii in relatively good shape that I can make into the car I have always wanted. Paint it Laguna Seca blue with some gold wheels...
hmmm thats a shame.... That poor classic...
this is a waste of a good miata. It's a shame to see cars come to this fate.
I would love to drive that thing around! Traffic? No problem, I'll go blaze my own trail. Road block? Ain't nothing, ill just use that tow truck's ramp to jump over it. Plus that thing looks just mean. #rallyfighter
