<![CDATA[med commented on Dog's Head Being Kept Alive via Machine]]> i don't know that I believe this video... I mean yes, blood circulation and respiration, those things are believable, but you can't maintain brain function of a severed head without dealing with the spinal cord... or at least that's my take on it... I'm not a doctor.
If that were the case, old and/or almost dead people would be ditching their bodies below the neck for artificial respirators and blood circulation machines in order to live beyond their reasonable years.

<![CDATA[med commented on Sony's Back-Illuminated CMOS Sensor Increases Sensitivity, Reduces Noise Dramatically]]> @Noobs-R-Us: That's not the case here, it's a different design. The reduction in noise is actually due to the *size* of the pixels on the sensor. So, a 1mp sensor of the same physical size as a 6mp sensor will have bigger pixels and therefore less noise, yes.

This is great technology, I want to see Nikon/Canon pick this up immediately.

I'd settle for something simple with 4 component inputs, 4 optical inputs, and 3-4 hdmi inputs.
Why is that so hard?

<![CDATA[med commented on EP2502 Cellphone Watch: Surprisingly Stylish, and Waterproof]]> I actually like this idea a lot-- but using BT would be essential, otherwise you would definitely end up looking like an idiot.
If the interface is simple, if it has voice dialing, if it's fairly watch-sized (big shiny faced watches are in style) ... then I definitely like it.
A lot of people use their cell as a watch anyway-- if you keep it simple, it seems like a "combination" device that might actually make sense.

Yeah I suppose it depends on whether we're talking about Clydesdales or shetlands. Motivation is clearly a factor here.

]]>
<![CDATA[med commented on One "Horsepower" Vehicle is a Slap in the Muzzle]]> I seem to remember that a power output of 1 horsepower would actually require approximately 1.5 horses to get the job done... so really this is like a 2/3hp vehicle. But you know, whatever.
