"It needs to have a remote so that parents can make it go off whenever they want. Growing up/being a teenager with small (not-yet-quite-potty-trained) children around meant that I became intimately familiar with the fact that children should ALWAYS be taken to the loo before getting in a car. My parents gave my kids two options: Go to the loo before getting in the car, or don't go and get punished, in addition to the embarrassment and discomfort of pissing/shitting one's own pants."
