I rented an Endeavor when I needed an SUV. Good grief, what a piece of crap. It was a 2010 model & had the amenities of a 1996 base model Kia. What a gargantuan pile of duece that thing was. Even worse, I know someone who owns one!
@electricworry: I don't even think it's the money... he's got plenty of that. He just happens to be really good at everything he touches, so he gets bored. He'll get bored of NASCAR soon enough, and move onto who knows what.
I chatted about his with one of my best friends... we both were adamant about that as long as they offer manual transmission, we will own them. It's hard to see most car manufacturers move away from manual transmissions, even dedicated sports cars. I hope that I can drive stick for the rest of my life. The connection you get to your machine by driving a proper gearbox is unmatched by even the most sophisticated paddle-shifted gearbox. Sure, it can shift faster than I can blink, but I don't care. Give me a shifter that I can row, and I'm in happy land.
@ThreeLitre: I had the same feeling. I think it's those blades... I have always thought they looked stupid, but apparently I liked them. Without the blades, it just looks very vanilla.
The fact that the 360 works with Logitech Harmony remotes out of the box is a big selling point (IR receiver, like someone mentioned). If you have a home theater setup, chances are you're going to have a universal remote of some kind, and then it's probably a Harmony. Yes, the PS3 has an adapter that you can buy, but again that's more money. I have both a 360 & a PS3, as I use the PS3 for Blu-ray, but it irritates me that I have to have the PS3 remote out as well as my universal. Just as a side note, I sold the only game that I had for the PS3...
