I'm thinking either something from an XJ-6 or an early Nissan Z car.
Build it, GM. But not on the same platform you use for the AVEO, m'kay?
This is exactly the commuter car I described in Jalopnik comments threads for the first couple of years we were talking about this sort of stuff.

Except mine has a wagon back, and probably weighs a bit more, so it only gets 190 mpg :(
@CobraJoe: I'm not going bore you w/the old tales of Jalopnik's former awesomeness, but it was pretty awesome back then.
@Sloop_John_B: Ditto Amen and Davey G, too.
@Jagvar: Happened the year after the Accord forgot to send Motor Trend a thank you letter after getting the award for the Xth time.
@dal20402: Yeah, I can't hate on the Volt, either.

Do I want one? Heck no, my commute is 4 miles and my "new" car budget is pretty much uniformly under 10 grand. But if I had a good paying job in the big city with a long and arduous commute (like I used to) I'd be taking a serious look it the Volt. The only real problem I see with it is its relatively high price.

The hate dumped on it here is very nearly universal in it's narrow minded pettiness.
Thanks, Cher.

Now I just need to consult with Madonna on my next bass boat and Christina Aguilera on which table saw I should get, and I've got all my major purchases planned out for the rest of the year.
@obrut-2002: Facel Vega. I haven't seen on on the street since then.
Seattle, 1988. $4800.

Just like this one, only more of a metallic gold color. 80k on the odometer.
@Xander Crews: In related news, the Giants scored repeatedly Sunday.

It doesn't really count against the Seahawks, does it?

Four doors + hatch = Station wagon

(And that's a very hot looking station wagon they made there.)

Two doors + hatch = Shooting brake
Cops in my town are constantly yakking on the phone while driving. Every I see a cop, it's one hand on the wheel, one hand up to the ear.

Good to know my local cops are among the carefullest out there.
@b5bartender: No, realizing it's not cool to make a big stink that can adversely affect the lives of others around you is being grown-up.

I'm sorry, but if its my flight you're delaying with your childish antics, then you just don't have the right to be a whiny little bitch.

Grownups choose their battles more wisely.
@b5bartender: it's a moronic rule that makes no sense whatsoever.

Grownups understand that they, personally, don't always get to make that decision.
@Peter Barrett: Or HydroPowered, or BioMassPowered, or SolarPowered, or DieselPowered, or ...
@dannkherb: See if i got it right, here. A different technique w/SnapNdrag on my iMac:
Couldn't figure out how to make the 2nd image go up, but it was BMW2002. (An orange one!)
@shinjukuDLJ: Absolutley agree.

Matt H, WTF? Is it time for bifocals?
@Rä¢inG73 - ain't nuthin' but a G73 thang: Looks like a Sonata made sweet, sweet love to a Saturn Aura.

And the resulting child turned out better than anyone expected.
