"@IamZardoz: Actually over the years NHRA has done many things to slow the fuel cars down, limiting tire size, gear ratios, blower size, number, and size of fuel pump/ignition systems ,inlet size on the injector hat, nitro percentages etc....the culprit i honestly believe is the on board data systems,this has allowed the tuners to find places that e.t."

"This is very sad, but unfortunately part of the game, I've been around drag racing since the early 70's, and seen a lot of drivers /riders lost, maybe someday this can be made safe, a good start would be not running on short tracks like the one where this crash occurred, as i recall, when you go off of the end @ E-town, you get a sand trap, then a catch net, and if those fail, you cross a road, and off into some farmers field, and yes catch nets ,in some cases will send a car airborne, or even whip them around violently....R.I.P."
