100 internets for you sir. That was just beautiful.
Ok. Best Superbowl commercial this year goes to Kia. They know they have to be over the top to get their message across and break out of what everyone thinks they are.

I'm impressed.

I. Love. Clint. Eastwood.
However, this commercial does nothing to make me want Chrysler products
OK, this was an interesting an short read. I almost feel like Mr. Barrett may have had some influence on the decision to write this article.

I cannot agree that the Glock, while a fine weapon, is "America's favorite weapon". Weapon selection is a very personal thing and no one handgun will ever cover everyone's needs.

O. M. G.
No way could I have handled those two as neighborhood "hot moms". I'm just not that strong.
I do envy him though, wow
i have to say...
Mat, please quityourbitchen...

what idiot does a vanity search while they are signed in to Google??? what good does this do? are you looking to boost your ego?
(I assumed) everyone knows the only reason for Googling your own name was to see what other people see when they Google you name. if you are signed in, it skews the results. Always has and probably always will.
On that note, I tried it while signed in and i received my profile as the first result with a note below it: "Thank you for completing your profile." Whats the big deal?

If you are not signed in, of course Google will not ask you to complete your profile.

I don't understand this rant. Please feel free to reach out to me and i'd be happy to continue this discussion in person (email, phone, etc)

Hat tip and 100 internet points to you sir. I don't think i could have said it better myself.
What. The. Frak???????
I hope I die before this is what cars are like. Sorry, not interested, don't want it, you can find me in mexico driving a 1978 VW Beetle first
Do both.
work on the two roads at the company you are with.

Also do some research on what jobs your skills are transferable to and start (quietly, of course) looking for those positions. Consider volunteer work (especially in something related to what your skills could transfer to) as an option to enhance your skill set in a new area.

Darkjasper,
Try networking. Make a list of ALL the people that you know would answer the phone if you called. Sit down and start making phone calls. Explain you are on a job hunt and would like 20 minutes of their time to discuss your resume, what companies might have an entry level networking position, etc. Make it clear you are not asking this person for a job.

I REALLY MEAN call everyone. If your grandma's neighbor would answer the phone, call them too. Try to get the names of 2 people you should meet with from every person you talk to. The people you know are your first level contacts, the people they introduce you to are second level and so on.
By level 4 you should start getting real interviews for positions and you will have an advantage. You networked your way into the interview instead of applying online. This separates you from the pack.
Of course make sure your resume is in order and seriously consider some business cards as well.
I'd be happy to talk to you more.

have to vote for the ASUS. I picked up a transformer when they first came out and love it. Its the best tech investment I've made since my first PC. the flexibility that comes with the docking keyboard (which also expands USB ports and battery life) is just incredible. Very quick updates to the OS and more power than Ive ever needed.
I've never had a problem nor have I have I ever regretted purchasing this device. I suggest it to anyone that is looking for more than just an ereader. I've even taken it as my primary laptop when traveling for business. it's just that good.
Props for your excellent post sir.
I had a similar childhood. My dad had a '60 Chevy with a steel case 4-spd Muncie (granny low). At 6 I was sitting front of the stick and shifting gears for dad while he drove. It didn't take long for me to learn how to listen to the engine and I knew to shift before he would tell me. On a '60 there was, of course, to tach to watch.
My sister "taught" me to drive stick when I was 15. she gave me a great deal on her car, an 81 Mercury Lynx W 4cyl & 5spd manual tranny. Every time I would miss a gear she would hit me in the leg. At 16 I could clutchless shift dads old truck and was pretty quick on the gears in anything else.
I love stick. It makes me sad that both my cars right now are autos but its due to limited options in the US. I don't have my dream BMW yet (M3 or 1M) but when i do, it will be stick. You can bank on it.
My wife could drive stick before she met me. My mom & both sisters can drive stick and my two daughters will learn to drive AND take their drivers exam in a standard transmission car.
O yea, my wife can even change a tire faster than I can. I married right :)
I liked it. The design was simple, I seem to remember it had a better voice than what is on the iphone now. When i used it there were limitations that kept it from being a "go-to" tool. I understand now that while its not as awesome as the commercials would let on; its very nice.
I'm an Android guy now so in about 6 months (or less) im sure something will come out for my phone.
Read. The. Books.
I'm happy to see this go to video but we are talking about 20+(+!) years of S king writing here. This is, by his own admission, his best work.
Stupid comments wont let me leave the pic. I'll second the vote but go back a few years (1972)

I'll second that vote but go back a few years...
Agreed, wonderful segment. Short enough for a quick watch but still informative and very fun. Love. This.
you can also check with your local bank. Some banks offer secured credit cards based on CD deposits. Looks just like a "real" (no dep req) credit card on credit reports and no credit check required
My dad had a B128 Commodore and I had the cheesy Vic20. I never mentioned to my friends at school (all wearing there "I adore my 64" t-shirts)
