Though an Astro with a GTRV conversion and a lift is tops in my book.
Looks more like a normal Jeep when closed.
The girl totally rocks!! The dad, not so much.
#9 Cottonwood Pass is fun. Had the pleasure of driving it in 2009.
2nd Generation Ford Taurus, hands down. Take the best selling car in the US and turn it so ugly nobody want to buy it.
Seriously, an Astro is a better choice than a Caravan for a guy. RWD based, powerful engine for its size, engine takes many SBC mods, and built like a truck.
Makes me wonder what other than wood could be put in there. I could probably scrounge enough scrap wood on a weekly basis for my commute to work already though.
Um, guys...he didn't say it was the first ever....he said it was the first ever by Ryan Anderson. Reading....it makes a difference.
Quite simply, the Chevrolet Astro van. They are a good base no matter what direction you choose. On road? RWD based, SBC fits, 700R4/4L60E takes a beating. Off road? The AWDs love it and are easily lifted, 4" lift clears 31" tires. Hauling? More interior room than a Suburban. Towing? Up to 5000 lbs stock. Camping? Full size mattress fits in the back with plenty of room for gear. Kids? Seats up to eight while still retaining space for groceries. Snow? The AWD system seems made for it.
Headlights that extend far back along the hood and fender. Can the headlight stay on the front of the car please?
@GTRbrian: Search the web, many people do choose to live in there cars. I consider my vans my back up plans, but I totally could live in them.
Seriously, how many police cars does it take to follow one dump truck. I think this was a staged chase for Blues Brothers 2010.
@KinoEscalate: Yes! Wheels and Roadie rocked hardcore for 13 episodes. I need to download these.
@D_Robb: Where do you live? Several of them in Chicagoland.
