Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking of. I'd just as soon have the Model S...almost all of the practicality and much less bloat. I still think one key element of any SUV is an ability to even handle dirt roads...I would suspect that even the X6 (amazingly there's one running around Kandahar, Afghanistan and its crappy roads) is more capable (relatively speaking) in the dirt.
Going to have to try that. There is a restaurant with locations in San Diego (Pt. Loma/Liberty Station area), Anaheim Hills and Huntington Beach that is all about the bacon. Slater's 50/50. Their signature burger is made of 50% ground beef and 50% ground bacon. They have bacon-infused ketchup, bacon chili, a crazy chocolate/bacon brownie a la mode, a chocolate/bacon shake, and bacon-infused bourbon which formed the basis for my Bacon Old Fashioned. It was simply epic.
Gotta be something tiny. The original Chevy Sprint (yes, the irony), aka Suzuki Swift would be a logical choice. Something more recent, the 1st gen Scion xB, aka Toyota bB. Currently in production for US consumption, I'd have to default to the Honda Fit/Jazz.
+1 for you. Could not agree more.

Heart-click for you. I'd vote that ticket!
First thought upon seeing the QOTW was the Volvo Brick, both the 200 and 700 variants. Hard to argue against the Benz, though, I do see them often enough. Might be interesting to compare sales numbers and current registration numbers to see which does have the highest survival rate. If you really want a 'Murican selection, by survival rate I'll nominate the Econoline/Club Wagon duo. Obviously, others sold in larger numbers (F-Series, GM C/K, K-Car, Escort, Oldsmobuick Cutlass/Century/6000/Celebrity), but I'm quite certain the rate of survival is lower than the Van.
I'd forgotten about the late 90s Volvo Saffron color. C70 and I believe the S70 of that era could both be had it it. Other manufacturers offered similar shades, the one springing to mind was Acura on the final-gen 3.2 CL.
I've already heart-clicked you, so all I can do to honor your highly astute observation is nominate you for Secretary of State. World Peace through hooning. It can work, people!
Stealth dog is stealthy! My dobies would blend in better in that fort, but actually getting them into such an enclosed space would be an exercise in frustration. And flesh wounds. Weird, because they have no problem getting into the car.
Yeah, it's hard not to see fantastic stuff in South OC. Irvine, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Ladera Ranch, Dove Canyon, Coto, always great for spotting the fun stuff. I do kinda miss living in that area, but La Jolla ain't too bad. Seen a Bug, Spyker, and countless Lambos and Ferraris. Gotta love So Cal.
That 911, that color, those wheels, can you scream 1985 any louder? Love it! That color is absolutely perfect!
Tasty car, tasty color. Good call!
Man, EVERY manufacturer had a variant (or two or three!) of that shade. The Gen 2 Taurus (92-95) had a version...the Probe had a slightly bluer version of the Taurus shade. Honda had that starting on the 88 Accord LXi, then offered it on the 90-92 Accord EX, then had a slightly darker shade for the same vintage Accord SE. Mazda offered a version on the 626 sedan of that era (90-92). Hell, even Mercedes offered a variant on the last few years of the W126 S-Class. Crazy!
And that attitude is why we love you!
Too bad you couldn't go out in public with it, but it's probably better all around that way. There is no problem with non-Emiraties driving in public...all you need is a US driver's license and you're good to go. I've rented cars (sadly, unless you pony up for something in the Benz realm, the options are typically beige...my last three were a Camry, a Nissan Sunny, and a Toyota Fortuner SUV) and driven through Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi with no problems. The problems come from the younger GCC population who love to hoon up and down Sheikh Zayed Road and probably would've freaked out upon seeing the Juke R.
