No I didn't get GAP insurance but I put a large down payment on it, and as long as they don't come up with some lowball book value I shouldn't be upside down on the loan. #oppositelock
Went to the body shop this morning, talked to the owner who seems to be a great guy and he's running the estimates on my car. The damage may be worse than I thought, the frame may be twisted because there's signs of buckling near the sunroof and quarter panel on the opposite side of the impact.
So far the damages are already at 13k and we're approaching the total loss line way too fast.
I just bought her 3 months ago and I absolutely love her. One of the cleanest, lowest mileage, most well cared for Type-S's that I had seen on sale when I was hunting.I had just bought a new set of rims + snow tires for her last month.

Is that my GF is awesome, and got me the Nordschleife, Monte Carlo, Laguna Seca, Road America, Spa-Francorchamps, Nurburgring Grand Prix-Strecke and Watkins Glen for my birthday present!

Bad news:
Woke up this morning to find my flawless 07 TL Type-S that I bought 3 months ago [jalopnik.com] was no longer where I parked it. Thinking it got towed for street cleaning/snow removal, I call the closest Chicago impound, only to find out that it was hit while parked. Got to the impound and the damage is pretty bad. The police report says some douche with no insurance, no license, decided to drive drunk and smashed into my car. Witnesses say he tried to flag a taxi and leave the scene, but the cops got there eventually and arrested his ass and took him downtown for DUI processing.
My baby's pretty fucked up, my brand new wheels and snow tires are all screwed up, 3 of 4 sets will have to be replaced. The RR wheel is oppolock (note: rear right) and shoved up to the door. The exhaust is bent down, rocker panel missing, trunk misaligned, etc etc. The car also got pushed into a light pole so the right passenger door and side mirror are scraped up. The two wheels on that side also need replacement.
