Not that I think breaking the law is cool or anything. But what my... evil twin brother and his friends do is take an empty taco bell cup, drop a can in it (which sits almost perfectly in the cup thanks to its shape), cover that in ice (keeps the contents cold) and then insert straw threw the cup lid and into the can. He may be my evil twin but he's not stupid, so the driver never participates in such shenanigans. #oppositelock
Quite honestly, it was probably sold at a considerable loss to Merc. $50 million (rounding the numbers) doesn't even come close to what it cost to develop a car like this.
Or, you know you could go through the Lincoln Tunnel. I made a lady on her cell phone in a cab very upset when I was driving my buddies straight piped STI through there... apparently her conversation was more important the the howl of the boxer motor. I beg to differ but everyone is entitled to there opinion.
He had a blackberry since way back (he has an iPhone now). He's not super techy but for 59 he's very up with the tech. He also kicks my ass in words with friends pretty regularly. It did take him a while to get over typing shorthand text message, I had to explain that that was from the days of T9 text... if you have a full keyboard USE IT!
He's not young, he's turning 60 this year. But he's very tech savvy and definitely a car guy. And he can out-drive me 10 fold. You need to get your dad on to the routine maintenance and safety check!
My dad sent me a text today: "My brain's going, I'm telling ya. I was at the bank today and I went to deposit a check. The teller tells me the account number I put (18436572) is not a valid number. I start to get irritated and say 'I've been coming to this bank for 20 years! I've had the same account number for just as long, I would think I would know my account number!' she insisted I double check, so I grab the deposit slip back and realize I wrote down the firing order for a big block chevy..."
I love having a car dad. G'night oppo! #oppositelock
I'm jumping in super late, but I'll say this much, if you haven't driven a car with more then 500hp, swing by my house sometime (I live just outside Philly). I'll gladly let you drive either my Magnum (650hp thanks to some forced induction) or 69 Camaro (550hp). It'll change your mind pretty quickly. It's a different kind of fun, yes small lowish horsepower cars are fun. But it's also fun to be able to blow a fart canned Honda Civic's doors off (this isn't the only reason, just an example). And yes I'm dead serious, if you come to Philly I'll gladly let you drive either of my cars.
Here's how I do Manhattan: Park at $1 a day public parking lot in Downingtown, PA. Jump on SEPTA train and go to 30th street station in Philly Take either Amtrak (the more expensive but nicer option) or SEPTA to NJ Transit. Or if you hate trains take bolt bus from 30th street to Manhattan. Arrive in Manhattan refreshed because you didn't spend all day in a car, and realize that when you get off the train back in PA you have a 10 minute drive.
Reading the reviews for these shoes made me go and buy a pair (White/Jet Black)... this review especially: "Bought this shoes for my son. This is the only brand he will wear. We purchase him a new pair every year for his birthday. They last him all year....he wears them every day. His birthday is about the only time we can get him to travel home to visit...we think it is the shoes." #oppositelock
Cross drilled rotors aren't really worth it unless you're really doing some heavy braking. But I've always used Hawk HB1s, I hear EBC Green Stuff is good as well, and Akebono ceramics are also not bad (they're OEM on a lot of cars). #oppositelock
