I don't care, I still want one.
Didn't you also build a LeMons Fiero with a Fiero nose in place of the rear end? Incredibly relevant. How does that fit in to the above equation?
A bike would be cool. I live in Cali too and have a garage, so I could ride year round. I'll think on it...
Thanks. I'm gonna intake/tune first, then Koni Strt dampers or yellows if I'm flush, and springs. Rear gears eventually. If I actually track it instead of autocross, I'll do brakes, but they are more than enough for me with the little power I have now.
Thanks man!
Yeah, I am definitely afraid of chasing the dragon, meaning always yearning for the Next Big Thing, cuz that game never ends. And I say that I'd then stick with the 5.0 base for the next six years and build it up, but once the 50th anniversary car comes out, the Unreasonable Want would strike again. I think I'm gonna buy an intake and a tuner to start, have a little fun, and be happy with what I have. And it is an easy game to mod with a huge aftermarket, and I'll have more free money to toss at it once it's paid off.
Thanks for the input, totally appreciated.
Yeah, they can definitely be built up to 400+ before upgrading the internals. I can modify it beyond what I need for sure. Thanks.
You get a heartclick for playing my selfish game. And maybe I should add an option #5: Pay it off asap and get a beater. I want something I can work on at school, so not having a new car with warranty would be a step in the right direction. Or maybe I just need to get a second car to work on. Honestly, I don't even need one car, but I want seven cars.
Wow, two Mustang posts in one day, I am excite!

I was thinking the first pic was implying that the friends think the driver is always climbing into the back seat for some hot steamy action, hopefully with another person. It's pretty tight back there and not recommended, but it's possible.

I think insurance is pretty cheap, at least for a 36 year old with a clean driving record. It's a little more than I paid on a Civic.

Unrelated but SUPER IMPORTANT to all of our lives: I just got out of warranty on my '09 GT. Do I begin the modification process and have fun with it, or just buck up and buy an 11-12 V6 or GT? My mileage is super low, so my trade-in value should be okay. I know I'll never catch the new GTs power levels without FI, but I don't know how important 400HP really is compared to just the overall Funability (trademarked) of the car. I already have a decent level of funability, but like most I yearn for MOAR, though hard to justify the need. Or buying an FR-S is always a possibility.

The fact that this is the biggest conundrum in my life right now means things are going pretty well.

Considered cross-posting this QOTD to S197forum.com, but this Patrick seems like a nice guy and I don't want him to get murked over this.

Most agree the 2-valve was a bummer, but saying the whole fleet of mod motor Mustangs out there are bummers is enough to cause All Caps Syndrome for many of us.

And yes, I type this as a 3v owner who constantly debates trading in for a 5.0, but doesn't want to pay the markup, and when honest with himself, doesn't really need the extra power. But still wants it.

An interesting article, a feelgood story, yet that's the part that stuck with me, too. "I'm hoping to find another 1st gen Ford Probe to continue my deliveries in." Really? Not exactly what most of us picture as the posterchild of affordable, durable, comfortable, and efficient, but the guy probably knows what he's talking about. I hope.
Don't feel bad, I just hit three years, and I'm at 8.8K. I should drive more, but I'm not going to start driving to work just to validate my car ownership. It's a toy, at least that's what I tell myself.
Why does Grimlock even transform? So he can have longer arms? He's already walking around and hanging out as is.
I suppose a row of them could look nice in the right room, but I'd rather dirty up my living space with large chunks of actual metal.

Why yes, I am single, how did you know?

(Ugh, this post would make some sense if the picture would post. )

Very nice. Love the 71-74 Satellites.
It really is captivating. I've seen it a half dozen times.
You are good at lists, I applaud that.
1. True, but I'm saying we are all good drivers and we are all bad drivers. It's situational. Some of us are good drivers more often than others, but we only notice other people's bad driving when they are making mistakes, while we notice all the awesome things we do along with our few mistakes.
2. True. There's good audio installation, and there's bad. Is Best Buy bad? (Serious question, I have no idea.)
3. Nope! You can criticize how well something was done (bad wheel fitment, cheap interior paint) but taste, to me, is totally subjective. If you want to see big wheels done right, check out donksnob.com.
4. Sure, it helps, but it's not a prerequisite. Too many car guys like to make car appreciation some exclusive club not open to ignorant plebians, which bothers me. Most of us are more ignorant than we think, especially me.
5. There are situations where a lease makes sense, but yes, most often it is done for the wrong reasons. I was kinda trolling with that one. This argument comes up on The Car Lounge every few months, and there are very good points to be made defending it in certain situations that I am too lazy to look up. Will link if you really care.
6,7. Agreeing is fun, but disagreeing is fun, too.
Bonus point for you, #8!: "CUVs and SUVs are for idiots who are scared of life and offer no practical value. Put your baby in a station wagon, momjeans! That center of gravity will crush the life from your children someday." While I love wagons, that command seating position does have its merits in the city. When I'm pulling out of a sidestreet in my Mustang (super tasteful) I can't see around the parked cars to my left and right, and perform a left turn a bit blinder than I'd like to. Momjeans totally sees everything in her Escape, avoids fiery death.
Agree, I'm not saying deafening bass isn't annoying, and at levels high enough, harmful. Just that setting up audio systems capable of rattling car parts off is a skill. Making it sound good is a whole different skill, but OMG THUNDERBASS is something that can be done well or done poorly.
Or at least one of them to say DUDE YOU JUST FIRED OFF TEN ROUND FOUR INCHES FROM MY EAR WHY WHY WHY.
Reliant, VW, Isuzu, one from each of the Big Three!
Thanks for answering, and you have a pretty cool stable going, this guy is jealous. Is the Reliant the shooting brake model? (Please mock if you feel I've used the term shooting brake improperly.)
And it's not really fair that you have three cars while the baby has to share a car with your wife. But I'm guessing you share the toy cars with them, so it evens out.
