@pmalik: Its for homologation purposes; this way they don't have to do destructive testing. Also, the F430 engine fits, and that is what they're running.
Yeah, this happened to a company called scooter company that wanted to import four-stroke scooters that are variants on the old large frame Vespa. The stickers are incorrect so the company is waiting for approval from NHTSA's nitwits. Because less pollution and 147 mpg is apparently a bad thing.
