The wheels are off the Celica GT-S not the Celica Supra, they're a little different, but close.

Never been caught speeding, but I've had two interesting conversations with officers while behind the wheel: The most recent involved a slippery road and a 90 degree corner with no stop sign. I came around the turn beautifully, with the rear wheels all the way out behind me,but lo and behold there was a lady cop standing in the middle of the road watching me.

She just stuck out her palm and waited for me to stop. Of course I did. Turns out, she was actually walking across the street to check on a domestic disturbance, she told me I was "damn lucky she was there for another reason," and to "stop driving like a jackass."

The other time I was offroading in a construction site that had been closed, and was warned for trespassing. I was very muddy at the time, or else I would have claimed that we were lost.

Once that HEMI is mated to a Tremec or B/W 6 speed I'll salivate. For now, it's pretty, and it's got a nice powerplant.

There REALLY needs to be a Lotus-ized version of this car with all the extras pulled out (for -less-).

Just a few days ago I had the pleasure of driving an 05 RX-8, I must admit, even in its stock form, it's an impressive car. Not the first rotary I've driven, so I was expecting an FC that felt like it was riding on airbags, but I was pleasantly surprised by the connected steering and suspension. If I bought new cars, this would be on my consideration list.

Those wheels were a stock option on the GT models, the GT-S got wider (215) tires, they look like the ones on the supra of that generation.

Those are the steel base option.

I've got one of these, lovely car, it's an 85, GT-S, so it's got the IRS (which, fun facts, was designed by Lotus for the Celica Supra, then transplanted without the LSD to the Celica GT-S) it's been a spectacular personal PCH.

Oh, and the funny side marker lights were replaced with vents in j-spec markets. Interestingly enough, 'mericans want the vents and the reflectors are coveted overseas. Go figgure.

My money is down on the early 80's celica, in ugly brown. If it's still got the 22r it came with, they should be able to dominate everything in this race. Except maybe that z car.

1978 Volvo 240 DL, easiest car to drive I've even been in. Handled much like an old mattress, but at least the correct wheels were driven :) I then spent a number of months behind the wheel of an 85 Toyota Celica, in which I learned the art of causing the vehicle to travel sideways.

I have one. It is an 85 however, (and the subject of a "Ask Jalopnik readers" about a year ago) so the front end looks a lot better and it's fuel injected, but it's nice to see some love for us older Toyota owners.

As for the wind tunnel design, that's actually true, it's got a .34 drag coefficient, which in 82 was DAMN good.

the 994 actually runs with the NA motor that's in it, and has a turbo motor for spare parts or exchange

the 300zx however has an empty engine bay, and TWO turbos.

nissan is the winner.

I'm not particularly impressed with their response to this problem, recall Nintendo's reaction to breaking Wiimote straps? Just a few days after the first reports of broken TVs appeared, Nintendo started shipping out beefier wrist straps to pretty much anybody who asked.

That's the way to do business. EA could take a lesson from Shiggy and friends.

I've actually got one of these, it's a really fun car. With the truck cam it gets all kind of torque down low. Turn in hard and dump the clutch, it will definitely slide out behind you :)

@Logrus: yeah, the Toyota R series was an engine of the day a couple weeks ago.

A month and a half ago I picked up a Dell Vostro 1500, my priorities were a little different from yours, but with a Core 2 Duo and an 8600gt(with its own ram no less) it can actually play every game i've thrown at it.

With a 15.4" screen, it's neither too big or to bulky to actually tote.

Just my opinion on this, but if you want a notebook that you can actually game on, and don't have to take out a second mortgage to afford, the Vostro series from Dell may be worth a look.
